Amazing place. The food was awesome and the staff were great. One of the best experiences in a restaurant I've had in a long time.

The food at Black Leaf is wonderful (king oyster mushroom calamari and the chickpea meatballs were a personal favourite) and the team are so lovely, but the tables are tiny and squashed together and the subterranean room just isn't a very pleasant space overall. I really hope that Black Leaf move to a better location in the future where the dining experience can be more comfortable because Manchester needs great vegan food options and the team deserve to do really well.

Had a fabulous meal in the Black Leaf. All 3 courses were delicious and substantial too. The wine was lovely and the staff were excellent. Can't wait to return. I'm not a vegan or even vegetarian, to all you fellow meat eaters I urge you to try the food here I think you'll be very pleasantly surprised.

Hidden below this small alley bar is one of if not the best vegan dining experiences in all of Manchester. Black Leaf’s experimental menu and vast selection of wine will only leave you wanting to come back again and again. Kudos to the chef & team

Stick with the tapas style starters. Much better value than the mains. Grab a few of those! Drink prices what you expect from the northern quarter. Service average, but friendly. Nice building. Clean toilets. Recommended.
