Great breakfast, lovely staff, the staff work very hard at this hotel and the are so polite. Clean hotel throughout but not a great room. The carpet is as old as the hotel and you can tell by the colour, no pillow protectors on the pillows, I left a note for the cleaning ladies asking for pillow protectors but they just gave me extra pillows so I slept on my jumper. I just cant stand no pillow protectors. The sofa bed was a great thing but the white stains put me off even sitting on it. We were completely secluded off from the hotel which was great no noise at all. The room just let it down, the door was so black i presume its from peoples feet trying to kick the door in as it just doesn't open or close properly, you literally have to give it your all. The issue lie with the hotel and not the staff. I would go back, definitely but maybe a better room.

The thing about reliable is that it can be a bit dull. Sometimes dull is good. When what you want is a comfortable overnight to break a long drive, exciting is probably not what you are looking for. It's a Holiday Inn Express. It's clean, tidy, well organised, reasonably priced and never going to set the world on fire. Exactly what we wanted to break the journey home from a holiday in Cornwall when the weather forecast suggested that motorway driving was going to be hell on earth. Staff were helpful and friendly, food was basic but very acceptable, wine was fine, room was clean and big enough, bed was comfortable, there is plenty of parking and the location just off the M5 is incredibly convenient.

Good value hotel especially if you get a deal. Exeter is a very competitive market. All aspects of hotel are very good, however Covid reduced breakfast offering is a bit pathetic for a huge hotel group compared with other hotels who still manage to offer a full service.

Standard size hard beds Rooms are clean BUT Complimentary breakfast a COVID spreading event. No control with people crowding into a small area to get their buffet breakfast. ( Crowding not controlled by booked time slots for breakfast.) So many ways to improve this situation that management can only blame on Head Office. Obviously missed breakfast . However management not willing to offer a refund. I will be writing to their Head Office about these issues.

Can't thank the staff enough for how wonderful they are. I had to stay here for a week for work purposes and I found this hotel so accommodating. When I called to explain that I have a baby so I would need to bring her and my husband along with me for the duration of my stay, staff were so helpful in organising this for me and helped me feel reassured by confirming customer microwave is available for use and that they can store milk in the fridge for my little one. It was my first stay away from home with my baby due to covid and I can not thank the hotel and staff enough for their services.
