If you have an interest in R3 then this place is worth a visit. It's now £5 to get in but there is some interesting stuff in here and if you read it all you could be here for over an hour! Much better value than Clifford's Tower which has a higher admission charge with less to see!

4/ 5

A small museum but it is very much worth a visit. We bought a "pastport" from the Jorvig Viking Centre, meaning that we had free entry here. Please beware that there were many uneven steps and tight staircases but it you can make it up there, you are welcomed by a prison cell which really makes you feel sorry for whoever was put in there and many other interesting things. There was a small gift shop at the entrance/exit and the staff there were very welcoming and informative. Again, this is a very small place but has some great items like various helmets and a full suit or armour along with replica item of Rich. When we left, we walked along the city walls which was fab. One of the great places in York to visit. Must see!
