A purely functional station to which some thought has given made towards improving the lot of passengers without breaking the bank, in particular the provision of an air-conditioned shelter on the northbound platform (though alas not on the orher side where space is more limited). Bike racks on both platforms with access up fairly gentle ramps from the station entrance and ticket office. Foliage provides seasonal defence against westerly winds, but not in winter when most needed!! Would benefit from a complete refurbishment, especially a covering over the access ramps. No parking space nearby.

3/ 5

A busy station with a bus station and shopping centre close by. It has wheelchair access to both platforms via ramps although someone pushing a wheelchair may find them a little steep. There are no lifts or escalators. A multi-storey car park is situated opposite the station. Platform seating is available although fairly limited. Shelters give some protection from inclement weather and are needed when the wind is blowing as the platforms are quite exposed.

Standard merseyrail station, limited seating and shelter (but is available). Can get somewhat busy at peak times but outside of that it is quite quiet. Location is convenient for local shops.
