Really chuffed with this place. Had a limited budget for trainers but was offered loads of choices and, after gait analysis, allowed to try every pair on and use the treadmill to test them out. I was there ages but never felt rushed or talked down to (like some places) despite not spending a fortune. Oh, and the recommended trainers I bought were just the job. Thanks for the excellent service.

I visited the store a year ago with vouchers I had been given for Christmas. I'm giving my review now as it's time to buy a new pair of running shoes but I won't be going back. I went into the Liverpool store intending to buy some Ladies Brooks Adrenaline 19 running shoes but they didn't have any in my size. I asked if they could order some in for me but was told it wasn't worth it (?!!) but they would take my phone number and call me back when they had some in stock - which I did. A month and a half later I was still waiting so I went back to the store and was told the same thing - I could leave my number and they would call me back. I asked why it was so difficult to get these running shoes, to which the reply was, "Is it?". I was told that I could order them but the manager would have to be present so the only option was to leave my number ( again), and he would give me a call when he was in the store so I could come in and order them! A week later, I had still not heard from Natterjacks so I sent them an email explaining the whole saga, also mentioning that I can see the running shoes on their website in my size but there's no option to use vouchers online. I was told that the website is wrong and that there's no option to get a refund on the vouchers. I could also see that other stores online had the running shoes in my size and were £20.00 cheaper. Eventually, someone helpful from the Southport store emailed me to say that I could pick my running shoes up from the Liverpool branch which I did but was met with a slightly snarky sales person/ manager(?) who told me that now I had my shoes I had no excuse not to start running! FYI I've been running for years and, until now, always bought my running shoes at Natterjacks. Customer service- nil point. Never again.

Not a great experience shopping here. Very pushy sales approach. Persuaded my friend to purchase shoes two sizes too large and wouldn't issue a full refund when returned, insisting on keeping £15 for "gait analysis" - a pitiful experience on a treadmill that took no more than two minutes and involved donning a thick, dirty looking pair of socks conjured up from God knows where. I sent a lengthy and (I think) rather polite email to head office in an attempt to right the issue, a missive that appears to have been ignored. I'm honestly a little surprised that this company is able to continue trading, given the standard of customer service. If you enjoy being angry, this is the place for you; otherwise I'd steer well clear.
