Paint machine not working , staff didn’t help when I asked for paint or where it was, just said “ over there behind that shelf “ ... there’s 100’s of paint cans . Would have been helpful to had directed me as he wasn’t busy. In fact I was the only customer there. I left and 5 staff members were round the back smoking together.

Pretty decent store, on the smallish side but with most stuff in stock. Staff pleasant and helpful; however the Halfords opening gambit is 'you all right there'? (appears to be the 'friendly' greeting in all Halfords stores). Maybe I'm just not down with the kids :-), but try simply asking 'can I help you' - it works so much better.

I visited this branch of Halfords on 14/05/2019. I purchased a dashcam, which took some time because I had to make up my mind which one to go for and then had to wait for busy staff to answer some questions. I have now received a Parking Charge Notice from a bunch of legalised money grabbers known as Euro Car Parks, who are apparently well known for harassing folks who simply want to go shopping. They want £90 of my hard earned money because apparently I overstayed my welcome in the car park outside Halfords. From memory, £90 is more then I paid for the dashcam! Apparently you are only allowed to stay in this car park for an hour. I'm not disputing that I did go over the hour. I genuinely had not realised that this limit applied. To add insult to injury, the notice I have received states that it is a "final notification letter" and implies that I was previously sent a notice inviting me to pay a discounted rate of £50. I have never received any such notice. I don't really have the time to wade through what will no doubt be a deliberately biased and complicated appeals process, so I'll probably just pay up. However, the message to you and Halfords is this: For you: If you go to this branch of Halfords, beware the car park rules. Stay over that one hour time limit and you too can expect a nice letter from the folks at ECP, specially crafted to brighten up their day (but not yours). Suffice to say, if you do visit this store you won't see me there - ever. Amazon sell all the stuff that Halfords stock, and they don't fine you for doing business with them. For Halfords: We hear a lot of chatter about the death of the British High Street. "Moan, moan, everybody's shopping on the internet, what are we poor retailers to do?" Er, you could try welcoming people into your shop instead of charging them outrageous sums of money for the privilege of spending money there. There's a term for this sort of behaviour. It's called "shooting yourself in the foot." Here endeth the lesson.

My dad always made sure we know that Halfords is THE place to go for anything bicycle related or motorcars related. Now we have our own child, we always look to Halfords for expert advice and products. Trustworthy and the knowledge-base is so appreciated as we can ask for advice and help and have various products fitted. Tom really helped us out as we knew nothing about kids bikes. My dad wasn't wrong.
