Whinhill Medical Practice aberdeen

I would have rated 0 if I could. I understand a GP can be a stressful place but that is no excuse for the embarrassing mistakes this place makes on a regular basis. First my girlfriend ordered a prescription for two types of medications and only received one and they refused to do anything about it. Secondly, she booked an appointment for 14:20 and they put it down without telling her as 15:20. When we got there they didn't tell us and we were waiting over an hour because they failed to communicate something simple like time. This place should be ashamed to call themselves a GP and I'll be changing doctor immediately.

Quite concerning the amount of negative reviews on here. Unfortunately I'm going to add to that. Doctors and nurses are lovely but before you get to them you are faced with rude unconcerned reception staff. Couldn't be less helpful and certainly not the welcoming environment they promote online. Thank goodness another member of staff stepped in to resolve the missing appointment I'd made that same day. To be asked "are you sure it was here you called?" is a disgrace. Not impressed at all as this is not the first time I've had snippy remarks.

Rude reception staff - didnt even get my question out before getting attitide from her.

Doctor gave us an appointment time for my baby and we waited there for more than an hour did't even call us and did not re-arrange with us. Really felt bad that day because we have to come back with our baby without checkup. Very unprofessional.

Extremely rude staff and one of the worst medical experiences I've had to go through.

If I could give it zero stars, I would, but here's a one. Doctors are okay enough. However the treatments provided are a joke. Reception staff need to be fired, despite a valid exemption literally got yelled at for not wearing a mask while going into the practice for... 2 seconds to collect a sample? Ridiculous. Been waiting 3 weeks for results back too, seriously our tax money is wasted on this. Or when I sent in forms back regarding mental health I never got a response back, thanks! It's bizarre you have to chase them up for weeks to get anything done at all. Same with providing hormonal contraception, an important thing, yet it takes 2 months to get an appointment to the point I have to go to the health centre instead because they take you on the spot. Everyone around me tells that the things I experience at this GP are not normal, needs to be investigated.

Today I had a very unsettling experience with a doctor who I was advised was a locum. I'd asked to speak to someone as I'd been undergoing coeliac and bowel screenings and been asked to attend an MRI. On arriving at the MRI I was advised it was because it was of a mass in my head that showed up on a recent CT scan. I wasn't aware of this so was a bit shocked and naturally tried to follow up with my GP. The reception team have been absolutely brilliant throughout the day and extremely sympathetic and done everything they could to help me. The locum I spoke to this morning, barely listened to what it was I was asking, and talked loudly over me saying there was no information, he couldn't give me any additional help with my anxiety because I already had anxiety medications and despite the fact I was being extremely calm and not abusive in any way "had to terminate the call". He hung up on me. He wasn't an Aberdonian Doctor, and I've had similar experiences before with male doctors from other parts who do not listen to patients who know their own body. I registered a complaint with the practice manager and had a lovely Dr phone me back this afternoon. She gave me the information I was asking if they had about the mass in my head and helped me adjust my medication to try and combat the anxiety. I was just upset that I had to go through all that to simply find out what was wrong with me when I knew what worked, but wasn't being listened to and was still trying to work from home. The information was there in my notes but this chap clearly look into my notes and was obviously just trying to get me off the phone despite the fact I'd just found out I had a growth on my brain. No compassion or respect. I'm just grateful that I eventually found out what was wrong.

Must be the worst practice in Scotland and should be investigated. Waited over a year for an appointment only to be referred to cardiology then asked to get blood tests which I got and were the wrong ones back again for another test waited a few weeks heard nothing contacted cardiology who say they are waiting for my practice to get in touch I contact my practice told nearly 2 weeks for telephone with doc tor said not good enough then rude practice manager calls back to say I need to get back in touch with cardiology and ask them to phone practice over a yer and still no further forward doctors and practice manager hold your heads in shame as I bet I'm not the only one suffering at this sham of a practice

Had a bad experience today and honestly very awkward So i came to pick up my husbands registration form as he'd forgot to sign it. I walked in and straight away the "Lady" at the desk, in a very high and sarcastic tone said "Go and disinfect your hands and put a mask on, you're not walking into MY SURGERY like that" 🤦🏻‍♀😡 then a patient stood at the desk tutted at me and the receptionist laughed with her and said "you'd be surprised" Ok i should of worn a mask with it being a doctors, but i legitimately forgot, that does NOT give anyone the right to be Snobby and speak down to me Id join another surgery if i could but unfortunately this ones the closest. Id give NEGATIVE stars if i could

Same reception is very bad. Doctors I've seen there have been excellent though. Better that than the other way around.
