I am afraid that I would not recommend this gym to absolutely anyone. The gym is generally in very good condition and has excellent equipment. The issue I have with this gym is the staff. Particularly the counter staff on reception who pay entering and leaving customers absolutely no attention. And I’m more concerned about looking on their phones Than acknowledging customers who pay a substantial fee to use the facilities. I have mentioned this to the people in charge and all they do is pay lip service and say that it will be addressed and I see no improvement in fact it’s actually worse. I have to say I am seriously considering ending my membership of this gym and would not recommend it to any friends or family whatsoever

Accompanied my mum to her gym at the Village hotel this morning. The staff were very friendly and accomodating, we were warmly welcomed by Tasha and her male colleague. The gym facilities are modern, clean, spaced out and in great functioning order. The spa is a real treat and immaculate throughout. The food in the bar was brilliant and members of the gym even enjoy a generous discount! I will definitely be back again. Daily rates for non members are £17.50 which is similar to other leisure centres and in my opinion money well spent! Cant wait to get back here again! Thanks to the village team! Xxx

Have been a member here twice and most recently have seen the standards fall drastically. There is often broken equipment and the staff can be very sharp and unhelpful. The changing rooms are freezing, especially if you have young children and trying to get them ready can be difficult. I had issues cancelling my membership and some rude customer service staff on the phone. They didn't believe me when I said I had phoned to cancel so I had to send them proof of call logs (just lucky I still had them) or they were going to charge me another £39 even though the gym has been unable to be used because of the refurbishment. I don't think I'll ever be joining again. Lots of better options out there.

When I used the pool it was very nice and clean, and I did not smell like clorine after using the pool. But I did not quite like the service on the counter. Please dont hand out free day pass, if you revoke it when trying to use! I was given two free guest pass, when I used the gym paying for a day pass. When I came back to use the guest pass, it was revoked. I was told that the guest pass is for someone intending to join the gym as a member, which I get, but please do not hand out the guest pass out just randomly.

Mixed feelings about this place. Outside looks great as well as some areas inside. However the changing room/toilets are not cleaned very often as every now and then you can see lots of dirt and puddles around. Even though they said lockers are emptied over night, I noticed an old hat in one of those being there for almost a month. Plenty of decent gym equipment but unfortunately not maintained very well, broken equipment takes several months for them to replace/fix. Finally, most of the time its very busy and hard to get access to equipment. To conclude, its a little bit too expensive for so many issues that members have to cope with as the only good things in this place are easy parking and pub/restaurant close by.

For the price this place could be alot better. From the outside it looks very appealing and slightly up market, but when you get inside it doesn't quite match that. It has all the facilities they are just not maintained as they should be. Things like the sauna and steam room the drainage has issues, the steam room intervals need tweaking. Take nothing away from the staff most of them are always friendly and you can't beat that you can get a beer before you leave after a good session in the gym/spa As for the hotel... I won't even go there. I had a slightly discounted rate for one night as I'm a gym member. My basic needs were not even met. I've sent an online query to complain but near on a month later I've not heard back.
