Went to a private event there- a friend's birthday party. The venue was beautifully decorated. The staff were really friendly and efficient. I dropped a glass and seconds later there was someone there cleaning it up. Would recommend for private function

This is a wonderful hotel, I stay here when working in Manchester during the week and have never had a problem in many, many nights. It is a very stylish and chic boutique hotel, minutes from Piccadilly Station, and on the end of Canal Street. The hotel bar is excellent as well, with a good cocktail selection - albeit a bit pricey if you miss happy hour. The rooms are quite unique, all very comfortable, and some have quite luxurious bathing facilities - huge baths & double showers. Balcony rooms have a heated outdoor space overlooking Canal Street, and the Penthouse Duplex apartments are quite fantastic. All rooms have good quality coffee machines and fresh milk is in the mini-bar. Breakfast is left in a box outside the door in the morning - I like it, but others may consider it simple. Booked in for next year (2020) already - so I'm putting my money where my mouth is !

The room was amazing, the staff were lovely and the bar was really nice. The one thing stopping this being a 5* review is the restaurant. Had I have read the previous reviews on here beforehand I wouldn't have bothered. We were only one of 3 occupied tables and out or our 2 meals they managed to get one completely wrong and missed things off the other. I ordered a chicken dish and they brought me a chicken curry, my partners meal arrived, minus the sauce that was advertised on the menu and he ordered chunky chips and got fries. I was told that I could have the original dish I ordered but it would be another 30 mins so I settled for the curry. They then brought us the wrong bill and when ours came they had knocked my drink off the bill in recompense. As it was only a coke anyway my partner renegotiated the bill. Reading the reviews on here the hotel really need to up their game with the restaurant service. The staff were pleasant enough and the food was quite good so it's a shame really.

Just checked out of room 25 and had an absolutely amazing stay! Staff are friendly, my partner must have mentioned we were here for my birthday and were greeted with a complimentary Prosecco when we got to our room. That was really lovely, the hotel rooms are wonderfully decorated and honestly I had one of the best nights sleep I’ve had in a hotel. Would definitely come back for another stay

Often when we go to Canal Street, we just want quick food before we start on the beer. However, on Saturday, we couldn't get a table elsewhere so headed into Velvet. We're so glad we did! Lovely food, good service and a very civilised dining experience. It's nice that the Brasserie is separate from the bar so we weren't shouting over loud music or competing with the pub crowd for space. This might just become our regular haunt for food on Canal Street.

The worst hotel I have EVER stayed in. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. We were charged near enough £400 for 2 nights of hell. Bar underneath plays loud music all night long. Not even loud, unbearable vibrations through the room. It actually feels like the bar and music is inside the room. People screaming and throwing up can be heard till about 4 o’clock in the morning. You are given a 24 hour WhatsApp service that no one replies to. Staff beyond weird - do not greet you, do not ask about your stay. It’s almost like they already know how awful it is so they don’t bother to ask. Room is dirty, tea and coffee but no milk. There is nothing about this hotel experience that is worth £50, let alone £400. You will seriously regret spending money on this place. Ruined our entire trip. Bed was also completely smashed apart and broken - was like it had been brought in from an alleyway round the corner. Horrific.
