I brought my kiddos on 25 Dec 2020 and it reminisced the time my parents brought me here. It is clean and well maintained. If you go up above, you will find a forest trail. Nice for a short hiking with family which took us around 20 mins to finish the trail with toddlers.
ASEAN Sculpture Garden on the left side of the entrance to Tugu memorial. A bit difficult to find parking on weekends, better if you go bicycling. The good news is the toilets are open in the small park below, and also mini market & gift shops.
New year first trail walk in the jungle with clear road signage. 3km walk with all nature and fresh air. Sure come back again....π₯°
Clean and tidy

The national Monument is an iconic place and a great one for photos. The statue is the main attraction of the place. There are small vendors selling their caricature drawings of the statues and self portrait if you are interested. You can visit this place as part of half day/full day tour of KL.
A pretty spectacular view and monument. Like many monuments around the world, it's also about the location and how much you can do around there. While this monument commemorates the important sacrifices of the Malaysian soldiers, mostly those who died during the Japanese occupation of WWII and the two decade Malayan Emergency, on a sunny day, the trek here is well worth it. Great views and parks surrounding the area offer hours of things to do.
It is a place to reflect the lives sacrificed for peace in Malaysia. A calm atmosphere surrounds the monuments. There is a cenotaph that greets visitors upon entering the site. Walking onwards, you will see a gateway with three domes obscuring the main attraction. The gateway itself is worthy of photos. Beyond the gateway, your eyes would fall on an imposing bronze statue. Larger than life, it makes you think of the patriots that have lost their lives. A moment of silence for them. The views from the large terrace is also worth some photos. Looming large is Malaysia's tallest building, the PNB118. The National Monument is a place that should be worth a visit.
