4/ 5

Toxteth Cemetery was opened in 1856 and is still in use. The original houses of the Sexton and Registrar flank the main entrance. The Sexton's house is currently occupied. There are lots of elaborate old monuments & obelisks some of which are Grade II listed - as is the disused chapel, which is in very poor condition. Pedestrian access at the rear is thru a pair of unusual turnstiles.
