1/ 5

I visited this nail bar yesterday for the first time, it was my birthday and a treat from my family to have my nails done as I’ve never been to a nail bar before. On entering the establishment the first thing that hit me was the strong smell of chemicals from the products they use doing the acrylic nails. From the time I walked in they where dismissive of me even though I had an appointment. They have a sign that says Cash Only which made me ask how much my treat would cost as I would need to go to a cash machine. On returning from the getting cash I still was made to wait even though I had an appointment. As other customers walked in I was surprised to hear that what seemed to be the person in charge now saying customers can pay directly in the business bank account and not cash. On completion of my treatment I was told that the costs of my treatment was more than initially advised. I asked if I can pay part in cash and the small balance by bank transfer which the lady in charge agreed and gave me the bank details. I made the transaction and told the lady that the funds had left my account, she went on to say it wasn’t in her bank. She said all her customers pay in her bank and it’s always instant. She made me to look like a liar and a thief then demanded that I leave my young daughter in the shop while I go and obtain cash otherwise she wants my passport. This was all for £10. This drama was in full view of all the customers in the shop. I left my little girl and went to get the £10 cash. On getting home I checked my bank and confirmed that the money was in fact in her bank. I contacted her and asked her to transfer the cash back which she did with an apology. I was racially profiled and abused on my birthday! How sad in 2020 😰 My birthday was ruined! This establishment is a disgrace to the good people of Gloucester.
