The York Roast Co. york

We have been there once and we got the Yorkshire pudding wrap. It was really nice but the size was a bit small. You definitely need 2 to feel full if you are hungry. We also tried the crackling and it was delicious but it was a bit salty for my taste. If I ever go back to york I will visit it again as the food was really nice!

Good food, especially after a drink or two. Good price for a large Yorkshire pudding wrap. Vegetarian wrap includes vegetables, potatoes crazy and sauce. Usually open till late. Staff are always friendly. Can get very busy during the day time. Can opt for take out

Nice sandwiches available from early to late on a night which is excellent if you are in need for a snack when out shopping/drinking etc. Plenty of filling in all the sandwiches. Reasonable prices as the meat is freshly cooked throughout the day. The sandwiches are prepared fresh so a couple of minutes to wait when they preparing it but seating available.

Fast hearty filling food. choice of roasts.. Beef pork turkey chicken in a Yorkshire pudding wrap orbread roll accompanied with stuffing, apple sauce and crackling.

Miserable staff who didn't acknowledge us for several minutes. The seating area was filthy, overflowing bins and sticky tables. The beef Yorkshire pudding wrap was very good tasty and value for money. However the pork roll was so dry it was inedible; a wad of stuffing on unbuttered roll with plenty of, but very dry, pork and a stingy smear of apple sauce. Not worth 7 pounds at all.

Really disappointing. We visit York 2-3 times a year and had seen the venues which looked appealing. Before the trip we planned to try it. The food was, at best, warm. The pork crackling side was cold. However the drink can from the fridge was warm. The plastic cutlery we understand - but no knives? Upstairs where we ate - a bit of a mess. It's self-clear which isn't a problem to us and works fine if people do it. But from the looks of the place several visitors hadn't, and the staff didn't seem to be checking regularly to address this. The bins were overflowing so maybe that's why people hadn't cleared their table? As a family, we love a roast dinner. So after a day exploring York we were looking forward to this. Unfortunately it didn't round the day off well.

It was good food, they definitely got through the orders very quick despite how busy it was during half term. Only complaint was needing more of the gravy! Prices are reasonable for a 'nicer' fast food place, it feels like somewhere in the middle ground between cafe, restaurant and funky takeaway - all the seats being upstairs having something to do with this. Did not seem particularly accessible unfortunately.

The food itself was fantastic, I've been wanting to try one of the Yorkshire pudding wraps for years but never got round to it because of big queues. It was hot and tasty and was well prepared in the Panini machine... However, the young girl serving was clearly very stressed, being left on her own to take orders, make the food, serve the food - and she had a full shop of people staring awkwardly at her with a deafening silence. May I suggest some music or a radio downstairs? It certainly would have made the atmosphere less tense.

Super friendly staff. Well priced, fast service. The food was delicious. I had a pork sandwich (Beastly) with everything in. I wish we had one locally!

Very tasty food, great for getting a smaller scale British Roast. Had the Beef Yorkshire wrap which comes with gravy, stuffing and some vegetables. Everything was cooked perfectly with melt in the mouth meat. Great for a good substantial lunch or perhaps for a bit of a lighter evening meal.
