The Bluefin york

Greeted with a smile and order taken swiftly. Although the orders are not cooked in advance they didn't take long to arrive. I ordered the haddock and chips. The batter was crispy but not overdone. The chips where best I've had in a long time.

Visited with my wife this evening. Haddock and homemade fish cake were delicious. Chips were also of excellent quality. Portions were very generous. All for a reasonable price in this day and age. Very good quality chip shop.

Best Takeaway Chippie in Town - always perfect chips. Nearly always a queue, indication of just how good this place is. The staff are always courteous and friendly. Portions are generous and always cooked perfectly. Topped with just the right amount of salt n vinegar.

Great fish and chips. You dont get heaps of chips, which I personally don't mind, but the fish is of good quality and size. I get the haddock and it's always fresh and always tasty. The standard portion of chips is ample and of of good quality, if there were more chips I would probably eat more which isn't the best thing for me!

Very nice batter only had fish but ordered haddock and got cod, would recommend staff training in the difference between cod and haddock . Haddock being a better flavour fish than cod. That’s reason I I only gave it 4

Avoid going near Opening Times as you'll most probably get warm ups and hard sharp scrappy bits of chips. Was my favourite Chippy in York with normally great food and portion sizes and very friendly staff. Recommend you phone in your order beforehand even if 5 or 10 minutes away as it can be busy depending on what time you visit. Please support your local shops/businesses. First time in The blue fin last night and YOU have to go! It’s the cutest little shop with amazing food. The fish and chips is to die for. IT WAS FIRE!! The service we received was so amazing and we will definitely be back again. They made us feel welcomed and gave us an amazing experience. Thank you Blue fin!

Go here occasionally and order 2 fish and chips 2 large curry’s and sausage. Food and staff are brill, love you blue fin ❤️ Pros- Amazing food (best in York) Amazing staff (very friendly and cute) Staff use good manners, smile and talk to you Nice little shop Good location to attract locals Good range of food (gluten free options) Nice fryer Relatively cheap (very nice food for price) Cons- Short girl has got our order wrong twice now (Only given 5 stars because the rest of the team is great) Need hot drinks machine

Just barely adequate. Rubbery or stale tasting chips and fish had a similar rubbery or old quality. Good portion size. Not good. There are several better chippies in York.

Good chippy ... no complaints from . Local, polite and fresh. Nice treat for a Saturday night takeaway 👌
