Really impressed with the Trout Inn! Food was really good, they have a separate vegan menu so have some really good options for anyone veggie/vegan. Loads of parking. Nice location by the Thames. Our server Lucius was great on his first shift. Really friendly and attentive service.

Beautiful location, the prices were okay considering the area and the staff are brilliant. My friend and I took her new rescue puppy there so he can experience different things. He was welcome in the pub which is such a relief. He settled quickly in the calm and pleasant atmosphere. We both chose soup for lunch which was very nice and I'd happily recommend you try it. There's lots of room and lovely little nooks and crannies to sit in. The outside area right next to the Thames is again large and safe. There were heaters under the umbrella if anyone wanted to sit outside. The car park is a good size which is located on the opposite side of the road. We will be back.

We visited The Trout for the first time today. An excellent meal (6 roast dinners) followed by wonderful desserts. I had the lemon Alaska which was exceptional. Very impressed by the service; our waitress happily offered to take a group photo which came out well. All in all a super experience on an exceptionally dismal day. Thank you.

Hi, well a year ago we came to The Trout for the first time and we had an excellent meal and service. So returning again we were ready for a feast, a treat for our daughter who is at university nearby. The waiting staff were brilliant, friendly and really helpful. they did tell us you are closing for refurbishment for a month and quite a few of the dishes we were going to choose weren't available. Our food arrived but was sadly not to the standard we had last year. My husband ordered the Trio of Meat but was a little surprised that the chicken was a chicken leg instead of sliced meat not what he expected .. it was as though the chefs were just using up whatever they could find in the freezer. Our daughter had the Nut Roast but that was really a very small portion of crumbs, it looked a bit messy not a proper slice but the waitress had said it was the last slice but it wasn't really good enough. I had the Roast Salmon which was okay but nothing like the fish dish I ate a year ago. The puddings, my husband had crumble which wasn't very hot, but the custard was hot though and our daughter and myself had the mini Dark Chocolate, Hazelnut Mousse which was more whipped cream with a few hazelnuts and the smallest teaspoon of set chocolate mousse on top, it was really disappointing. Before we came I had noticed on line that some of the recent reviews were reading a little disappointing I did ask when I booked if everything in the kitchen was okay and I was told that all was well. We didn't say anything last night as we didn't want to spoil the evening. If it hadn't been for the waiting staff who as I said earlier were brilliant then we would have said something. It would have been a nice gesture if we'd been offered a free dessert or something as lots of the dishes weren't available. We will come again but do so hope that as well as the refurbishment of the premises you get the food up to the high standard it was a few months ago, as the potential you have at The Trout is fantastic please don't let the standard go down. So I'm really sorry to say our visit was disappointing.

I could not fault The Trout Inn, the friendly reception we received from the staff was fantastic. The food was first class, well presented and fresh as the day is long. The situation of this very old building is very pleasant, on the bank of the River Thames (ISIS). I have no hesitation in recommending all to visit for either a meal or just to relax in high backed chairs with a glass of your favourite tipple. I will definitely be returning.

Just had a fantastic family Christmas meal. Food was good and the service from all, and Joe in particular was brilliant. We had a lovely time. Thank you. As an aside we all visited you about 16 months ago. Something has changed for the better. You have really upped your game.

Came for a Christmas meal with work last week and our waitress Maya was lovely. She was somehow there whenever we needed her and the drinks she recommended were amazing. I’m now a French martini convert!! Might have to take advantage of their festive meal again very soon. To make the night even better, all of the team that we met seemed to have smiles on their faces which really says a lot about how that place is being run!

Friendly service from Tom at this lovely pub with great views of the river. Tom was really helpful and made sure we all had what we wanted, and sorted out a problem with one of the meals (not his fault) in a very charming way. Delicious scallops, brilliant rare beef salad and tempting desserts mean with such great service I'll be back when I'm in Oxford.
