The Red Carpet Salon Spa – Reading

I was waiting for hours to get my hair finished whilst the hair dresser bounced from client to client before finishing my own. Prices aren’t set as I previously paid less for the same hairstyle. Be sure to ask in advance as they make it up on the spot. Hands weren’t washed between clients and was eating food whilst doing my hair. My braids weren’t trimmed and she didn’t do the length I requested. Overall really disappointed. The previous time I went I was left waiting for 2 hours only to be told that she can’t do the hairstyle that I asked for and sent pictures of before hand. I love to support black businesses’ but I won’t be coming back. The hair was nice in the end, I can’t dispute that. But I had to ask for certain braids to be redone as she was rushing and they weren’t uniform. In my opinion not worth the money or stress.

Very professional and good customer service. You can tell they know their stuff. Amida really good at what she does. Extremely creative and has a good sense of style. My family can’t think of any other place to ho. Definitely glued to Redcarpet.

Went in after having been recommended by a friend. Didn't feel welcome at all, had an appointment booked, no greeting just told to wait. Waited over 45 minutes to be attended to. They have no set price list, they charge on a whim. The prices on their website don't resemble what you actually get charged. I was given a price when l booked in and the price at the end was completely different too. Only needed to get my hair relaxed, overpriced - a complete rip off. Disappointed and will be going elsewhere.

I don’t appreciate being called a ‘b*tch’ on private message after my negative but honest review. Not to mention being told to ‘burn in hell’. This is all quite concerning as as a business owner you should be able to take constructive criticism instead of coming at people in such an aggressive way. None of my complaints were addressed and no apology was made. Instead I was told that I was an ‘ungrateful cow’. Sorry but I won’t be recommending to anyone I know, this behaviour is really unacceptable.

I just want to say a big thank you to the lovely salon owner Amida, the customer service is amazing, from when you walk in to when she transformed my hair. I wish I knew about her sooner. 10/10 experience
