The staff are amazing and go over and beyond. Many thanks to Adam as he ensured our stay was comfortable. The rooms are big but walls are not very soundproof. Great for families highly recommended. I would also recommend the full English for breakfast. This is also a dog friendly hotel which is rare. I have given 5 star but the hotel itself is 3 star.

I have recently been twice, it's not fancy like some others, but staff are friendly and I have had two great nights there, both times I have seen brilliant bands playing great music, thanks a lot Highfield from me and all my family for the best nights out in a long time, I'll be back.

The Highfield Hotel is simply tasteless and cheap. It could have been so much better without much more than some thought and a little investment. There were good things, Staff were helpful and friendly, the rooms are large and it has a pool but that's where the plus points end. The room was large but furnished to the lowest standards, the first room offered looked onto what I'd describe as a private tip, the second was better with a new carpet but just completely tasteless and cheap. The bed was new but either the mattress was old or just a lousy mattress. The Pool area was swimming in water with people walking into the area in outdoor shoes, frankly not a good idea and with so much condensation, water all over the changing areas and generally needed an update. Again, a good facility but poorly maintained. £77 for a family room is a decent rate but I've stayed at far better for the same moneyt. Breakfast was completely none existent really...Yes there was some food available but it was not a continental breakfast as advertised, it was a few cereals and plastic packed croissants...I took 3 banana's which was the only fresh thing available. Its a shame cos it could have been much better, but badly needs some investment & some thought.

Booked for me by my work, I always give 5.stars: Massive room, enough space to swing a lion. Generally a good comfortable stay. No breakfast included and only offered a continental take out bag for £4. But did include use of swimming pool, jacuzzi and spa facilities. I did not use or see them so no photos to show I'm afraid. Important context: My experience was a 1 night stay and does not represent this establishment in it's entirety. No-one in hospitality sets out to provide a poor experience

stayed there for 1 night. never again!! tried changing me extra for a duvet they failed to provide. mould on the walls, mice in the floor boards. breakfast was undercooked and found a hair in my beans. worst experience i’ve ever had in my life. tried changing us extra to use the pool (which is the size of a car). not worth wasting your money there

My review is only to do with the gym side. I take my Granddaughter to swimming lessons. Whilst the pool and changing areas are perfectly adequate and clean I get the feeling it's all a bit tired. I don't think, personally, that the toned down lighting helps but that might be ok for other people so it's not too much of a criticism. Overall a fairly pleasant experience.
