*** PLEASE READ BEFORE MAKING A BIG MISTAKE **** What a shocking company The Garage Door Company is, from Nick Hodges, the Branch Manager all the way up to Stephen Bradley, the Operations Director. Nothing but let downs, broken promises, lies and awful workmanship. They have a customer Charter, which is an absolute joke, not one person that I dealt with at The GDC believed in the Company values. The initial installation, which only happened after we paid the remaining 50%, was so bad that the next set of engineers just laughed at it. We were left unsecured and open to the elements for a month. A gap above the garage door wide enough to climb through, gaps down side big enough to slide your hand through. No apologies, no offers of compensation, either financial or other forms, just an absolute joke. Spend your money elsewhere, don't be let down as we have.

This review is based on my experience with the company when I ordered the product in 2017 and their after sale product maintenance service in 2019. Customer Order No. 16037X. Last digit omitted. I purchased their product to be installed in Great Denham, Bedfordshire, MK404GE. I used the Luton branch. From my experience with this branch, I would strongly recommend you avoid them. They dont deserve the 1 star, this was the lowest I could give. I ordered a electric door and I was told it would be fitted in 6 weeks. 5 weeks passed and I heard nothing therefore I decided to call them. The Luton branch manager (Charlie) made up some excuse and said there was a shortage in getting material and it would take another 5 weeks until the door could be fitted. 5 weeks had passed and I got a notification from the manager stating that the door had been delivered however it had parts missing and would need some parts ordered which would take a further 2 weeks. Finally when they come to install the door the fitters damaged the door during installation. I rang the branch and they said they would repair the door with in 2 weeks. I waited 2 weeks and had no response from the branch. I rang the manager (Charlie) and he apologised and said they made a error with my order for the replacement parts and I would need to wait another 2 weeks. 7 months later and after various visits from the company they managed to fix the door. From my experience I would strongly recommend you stay away from this company and pay slightly more and use a reputable company. The people who operate this company appear to be cowboys. They will take your money and mess you around not deliver a quality product. This company should be on BBC Rogue Traders. If any prospective customer wants to personally speak to me, you are welcome to contact me. I could not trust the branch manager Charlie in what he said. After 1.5 years from the installation, I arranged for my Garage Door to be serviced by the Luton Branch. (This was a free service provided by the company as compensation for being messed around during the installation). A afternoon slot for the service was booked for the 18th July 2019. I took the day off work to ensure I was at home for the appointment. It got to 4.30 in the afternoon and no one had arrived. I rang the Luton branch and spoke to Amy and she told me that the engineer was over running on the previous job and they would not be able to attend. She apologised and said I would need to book another slot for the service. If I didn't ring them, I would of been waiting for the engineer. From my initial experience and 1 year plus, after the installation, it looks like the companies performance has not changed. I would be very careful when doing business with them.

Hi All Please stay away from this company. I payed a deposit for this company on the 1st of November 2018. They had to cancelled installation 3 times , giving various excuses. at last when they came for the installation door size was wrong. I was told they will not be able to do the door anymore and they will refund the money. I still not have revived my money. One of the worst companies to deal with.

Sadly I cannot give negative stars! Absolute shambles from the start. They had to measure twice because of lost measurements. When eventually delivered the frame was the wrong colour and the side door was too large. Many weeks later (after a promise of only 2 weeks) the side door arrived and was bodged in place. A poor fit which does not fit squarely. At the first attempt to open, the handle came away. The securing screw had not been tightened. Just about sums them up. The doors themselves (steel corrugated) have gaps all around and down the middle. No attempt was made to seal the frame to the brickwork. More gaps than a picket fence! The check bars are held on with cheap self tappers. These came loose in days making the doors impossible to close by my wife. Countersunk screws holding the lock striker on were too small, so the striker was loose and the door rattled. And on and on. I have had to effectively rebuild them with rivnuts and bolts. Seal the gaps and frame, insulate and line the doors etc etc. Dreadful product, poorly fitted in place. Bodge and scarper. EDIT: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Following the owner response. Attached an image of the doors when rebuilt. Why should I bother to prove I am a "genuine customer" other than the above. We had plenty of correspondence at the time! The work was done mid 2016. House a property post code starting HP15. One fault I was unable to correct was in the side door closure. It touches at the bottom and has a 10mm gap at the top!! Do you want an image of that as well? ---------------------------------- EDIT 2 Calling you back would not correct the frame being the wrong colour, the doors having more air gaps than a colander or them being held together with self tappers! I got a discount because I refused to pay full price! I cannot recall much "good will" either way.

Went and viewed at Luton Showroom, once building nearing completion, arranged for survey and final price. All done very efficiently via emails etc. When ready for installation contacted and arranged date. Have to say was apprehensive when time got to 5 pm did not think would get fitting done that day. Phone call received from fitter Ryan who said will definitely get installed that day. Ryan arrived as promised and worked efficiently, ensuring all satisfactory. What a great service, would definitely recommend.

The company was very efficient to organise survey and provide quote. The door were ready to be installed earlier than estimated time and were installed promptly. The service was really good and the product excellent. Old garage doors disposed. In less that 6 weeks I have a smart looking garage. Final Price very Competitive . Excellent price /quality ratio. Very pleased

Really impressed with the complete process from initial estimate where everything was clearly explained to the installation of the roller doors. We cannot believe how spacious our garage has become going from an up and over electric garage door to roller doors and the whole house feels warmer. Very pleased, would definitely recommend.

A skilled team fitted the door within 3 hrs and made a very good job, unfortunately the handle was missing but they returned promptly the next day to complete the door. I am very pleased with the result and strongly recommend the company. Mike Percival
