Good rooms , clean and with space without being over priced for Cambridge £85 in June. Hosts helpful. Breakfast hot and hearty. One downside for me is beer choice or should I say lack of choice , it's in my view mundane - Green King .On a further visit to Cambridge (January 20) found room price had zoomed up to 120 pounds , so stayed in Premier Inn for 34.50 plus 10 for breakfast.

Very convenient location - most attractions are within easy walking distance. Food is served in the pub to 10pm and the bar until well gone midnight. And free parking and a decent breakfast included on the B&B rates

Daniel and Beatrice could not have been any more welcoming! We booked because Daniel was so friendly and let us view a room before booking. It is 3*, but clean room, en-suite, bed linen and towels. Breakfast was superb and on site parking a real bonus! Great for an overnight stay in the centre of Cambridge and we will definitely return. Many thanks T

Everytime I go back to Cambridge I try to come here. The customer service it's good. It's a quiet place next to the station to have breakfast. The croissant filled with cheese was amazing.

I didn't stay in the hotel, just went to pub for dinner. Pub looks nice and welcoming from the outside. Unfortunately food was awful. I've ordered a burger and I was served with a bread roll and package ready meat. No sauces, no vegetables. Just dry overcooked meat with bread. It was served with cold fries and coleslaw. I'm not a Karen, I don't normally write bad comments but I also haven't had so bad food for a long time. Waitresses didn't even asked how the meal was, I think because she didn't want to hear people's complaints.

Stayed for two nights over a weekend. The Earl of Derby is in a good location if you don't mind a short walk into the City Centre, and could not be better if you are planning a visit to the botanical garden as part of your stay. The staff were very friendly, and the breakfast was plenty big enough to set you up for the day. The room was one of the ones above the pub, size was good, but at a point where it would benefit from refurbishing, especially the bathroom. The general standard of cleaning could have been better. Good value for accommodation in Cambridge.

Maybe they were having an off day. Poor beer selection unless you're a lager fan. Had pint of Yardbird and left half. Witnessed one bloke sending his food back and generally didn't enjoy the experience. Like I say benefit of the doubt and let's put it down to experience. Shame really, it used to be so good.
