Been a couple of times here and every time the attention to detail is superb. From concierge to any of the bar or restaurant staff were all relaxed and very unpretentious. Thanks for a great stay. My only single issue is that I have spent at least 4 years telling everyone that the best 'Old Fashioned' cocktail (I have searched a lot of the world) is best served here but I find to much dismay that it has changed to a more regular old fashioned. Bring back the days when the Balmoral stated that if you wanted a old fashioned then you should duly wait for its 10 minute creation from scratch. I had never seen an ice ball that was 2mm all the way round the ball of ice to glass, it was a work of art. However, it has now changed to be pretty regular in creation and taste. Regardless of this modern misdemeanor this is an awesome hotel.

From the second Rolph greets you at the door, your stay at The Balmoral is magical. Nothing is too much for any of the staff, and you are made to feel welcome all of the time. The rooms are spacious and spotless. The Prince Brasserie and Bar is very warm and welcoming. We had a glorious stay.

An absolutely fantastic hotel. The staff were lovely and always helpful. The hotel and the rooms were beautifully decorated and immaculately clean. The breakfast was delicious with plenty of options including hot buffet, cold buffet and freshly cooked options. The hotel is also conveniently located in Edinburgh near the city centre and the train station. I can honestly say this is one of the nicest places I've stayed and I would stay there again if I am ever in the area.

Although the unloading area of the hotel was filled with taxis and it took 10 minutes to park the rest of the experience was amazing. From the door man who took our bags and parked the car (from the bus zone) to the front desk lady who upgraded us. The room was quiet, modern, and lovely. I had forgotten my phone in the car and the gentleman who dropped off our bags went to look for it. This hotel has very good customer service which seems to be lacking in the hospitality industry these days.

On Saturday we popped into the Balmoral hotel after a hectic few hours of shopping. We relaxed in the bar with a bottle of wine listening to the man singing and playing the piano. Fabulous couple of hours. Turned into the highlight of our weekend. Beautiful hotel and surroundings. Welcoming and friendly staff. If you get the chance you must try this.

A true classic with all the fixtures and fittings you'd expect, with excellent service to boot. Pricey but worth it for that extra special experience. Spectacular views of the city from the west side of the building.
