The location is ideal for anyone wanting either central or seafront hotels. Great friendly vibe in a lively part of town. Small double room with en-suite but still more than adequate for our stay. Lovely staff who always seem to be upbeat no matter what. The bar and outside front terrace was a great place both day and night with good food, a range of beers and gins to suit most. Loved spending time on the suntrap terrace watching the world go by with great music playing and a cool, friendly vibe with all the clientele. We loved our stay and didn't want to leave, we are already talking about going back for a weekend.

I booked this hotel for my 21st birthday and was the biggest mistake ever and ruined my trip. I booked for 2 nights and could only stand to stay 1 (only because I couldn't find a hotel in time for the first night) This hotel advised that it is pet friendly but do not book the lower rooms! They are directly below the bar and are a nightmare! We decided to take our cat with us thinking it would be a nice break but instead cause a traumatic experience for all 3 of us. Worse night ever.. do not book this hotel if you want a relaxing weekend by the seaside... oh and I must add the room was infested with bugs...

Had the worst night so far but the lovely lady behind the bar made use feel incredible. We were meant to go for dinner and a drag show at another venue but they wasn’t open and we were left outside for ages. We walked down the road and found Amsterdam. We got a drink and the fabulous lady behind the bar brought us out the last of her sandwiches which were left overs. We ate up and felt looked after and so much better. Thank you guys, really made us feel looked after and special xx

Can't comment on the rooms but we walked in here for a drink on Friday evening at 2245. No smile or welcoming greeting, no, we were told literally on entering the bar 'just so you know I'm calling last orders shortly'. Didn't really feel clean despite very few customers, tables not cleaned, toilets sort of clean. Anyhow a quick half and we left for not wanting to keep this barman away from whatever it was he was so keen to get to. It's a shame as this used to be a really good place.

Pros: nice lads on reception, room was clean. Unfortunately 100% negated by it being impossible to sleep due to the ludicrously loud club next door (and the rude owner). It's unfortunate - the neighbours aren't their fault, but it's disingenuous and, I'd suggest, immoral to charge guests almost £200 a night without giving any warning when you know that your hotel has a huge noise problem. We're not talking a bit of shouting - we're talking deafening, constant music. It's so loud you can feel the bass in your chest and hear it even with good quality earplugs in (we happen to travel with these so tried them - they didn't help). It's genuinely like you're trying to sleep inside a nightclub. And it's all night, and all morning. The hotel itself is ok if you're alright with no-frills - very basic, very tired and very dated, but we could see that from the photos and were fine with it; we just wanted somewhere to sleep. We didn't get that. I suggested to the owner/manager in the morning that he should make clear on the website and Booking that the hotel is exceptionally noisy, and he was completely disinterested. He talked over me and was more interested in making excuses than listening to guests, and made it very clear that he doesn't care about the quality of guests' experience at his hotel; he just wants to take a disgraceful amount of money from you in exchange for a location on the seafront. He did say "Sorry" but offered no tangible evidence that he was, in fact, sorry and I don't believe for a second that he was. My interaction with him left me with the distinct impression that he has no shame and is completely at ease with charging 5* prices for a hotel he knows is a horrible experience for his guests and he can get away with it because he doesn't need repeat business due to the location. It's a shame because the lads on reception were nice and the location would be good, but this place is a complete disgrace. Almost £200 a night for a lumpy bed in a tired room where you can't even get to sleep is appalling. Do yourself a favour and DO NOT STAY HERE.

Room was basic but comfortable. We were along the side of the hotel facing the street so we couldn't have the blinds up a the neighbours could see right in. It was a bit noisy but the earplugs provided worked well and I had a good night's sleep. Check in etc was quick and easy and staff were helpful with parking (which is a nightmare in Brighton!). The only letdown was the barman with grey hair (not the one with specs) who was rude to us and very grumpy. The rest of the team were fab.
