Very nice place, good spaces, nice working out machines. Worth to use it. Available Swimming pool, clases, coaches, badminton etc. The only issue is they have no mirrors, apart from the weight lifting area and you have to pay for the hair dryer

Pleasantly cool pool temperature (around 28 degrees Celsius?) and pleasantly cool air temperature (especially in the changing area). I had a lane to myself most of the time after 9pm on each day I was there. All in all, it was perfect for vigorous sessions. The changing facilities are the best and most spacious I've experienced anywhere.

Astrid is the best. She noticed something was off in the HiiT class and rather than letting me leave in ignorance, she offered me some advice on what exercises I could do to correct some of my postures. She took time to show them to me and was very helpful.

Great gym! My only con is they aren’t open earlier at the weekend but that’s only because I enjoy coming here so much 😂 sometimes it can be a little busy but again, it’s because it’s such a good gym.

2/ 5

The gym itself is brilliant but unfortunately it's a total pain to train at due to the totalitarian obsession with the rules... Few examples: Warming up for bench with lightweight? Told to get clips on and watched from afar to make sure you don't disobey. Treated like a child. Guy next to you asks for some help with his technique? Told off for helping someone as it doesn't fit with the 'insurance policy'... Again treated like a child. 5 minutes late for your gym slot or a class? No way Jose. Not getting in. Explain that the instructor has been informed and is fine with it? Still no way. Not in this gym. Followed around to make sure that you don't enter the class. Treated like a child.

  • In Roman times, Newcastle – then called Pons Aelius – was a fort on Hadrian’s Wall, and during the Saxon period, it was known as Monk Chester on account of its many religious houses.
