This is a great little pub in the heart of Oxford. It does a wide variety of beers which are continually updated so there's always something new to try however regularly you visit. As someone who works nearby, this is it's great attraction for me. It shows sports as well with a projector and big screen upstairs for the big games. Whenever I've eaten here the food had been great and in the modern English style

Excellent selection of well-kept ales. Very tasty pork pies. Last Friday of each month, they have a lively jazz band in. Atmosphere wise, it's what I'd call a "through trade" pub. Other punters are usually chatty. Staff are attentive and cope very well with what can be a crowded bar. Probably my favourite in town.

Really good old fashioned pub. Great selection of real ales and lagers. Have two TVs in the bar so a great place to watch sky sports. The menu looked really good though I didn't partake, the fish and chips looked and smelled really good. Staff are very friendly. Be going back to watch more football, beer and maybe the fish and chips.

I've lived in the Oxford area for nearly 15 years and have never even noticed this little pub, right in the middle of town near the iconic Carfax Tower. If you're looking for a traditional "British Pub" feel, but in the heart of bustling Oxford, then this is your place. It serves traditional British ales as well as more "trendy" bottled beers (e.g. Sol) as well as a good range of ciders. Give it a go - and don't forget to use Google Maps to find it as it's easy to walk past! :-)

I and a whole Bulgarian group were there a week ago. We use the second floor for our meeting of at least 20 people. We had a great time until we have been accused of stealing if 8 whiskey glasses. Being Bulgarian doesn't mean we are thefts. Being Bulgarian doesn't mean you can accuse us freely. Being Bulgarian doesn't mean that you have to count your glasses and throw them it our faces. Being Bulgarian doesn't mean that you can get away with this freely. This is ridiculous and we want your apology to our group who came to have fun in your nasty pub. This is ugly, unprofessional, and way far from how to run a business. Counting 8 glasses is way far from any normal thing in the world. Even we in Bulgaria don't count glasses, especially accusing customers before you ask your unlawful staff. Ugly scenes like this need a proper apology and we want all of our money back from this evening as an apology for your unprofessional accusations. Find a way to apologize to 20 of your customers for bringing these ugly accusations to our daily normal routines and disturbing our peaceful life. Ridiculous behaviour from this place where you find it much easier to accuse another race than researching deeply if your unlawful and unprofessional staff. Ridiculous and ugly! WE WANT OUR MONEY BACK. If you can count 8 glasses for 6 hours drinking and using your services, so you can count how much we spent for the whole evening and give us the money back!!!!
