I just think this place is amazing. Nothing is ever too much trouble. Emma on lenses helped me massively other day and another lady today rang Ormskirk for me to try source lenses for my weekend away! Brilliant service.

I usually get my contact lenses and glasses from here. But recently when I've tried to call up to cancel my contact lens subscription, they've just hung up on me every time, without giving me terms of cancellation or anything. This has happened at least the last 10 times I've tried to call. It seems as though if you're not wanting to spend money with them, they're not interested in helping. Think I'll be going somewhere else in future, once I've managed to cancel.

Terrible - worst optician experience I've ever had! The optician and the eye test itself were fine, however the whole experience was very poor – this felt very much like fast food or bargain basement retail than an important paid for personal health checkup by a supposed market leader... Despite having a very specific appointment time I was left to wait in a tired, cramped waiting area for 15 minutes before being attended to. Moreover, even though I was a paying customer and the optician said they would, the staff refused point blank to measure my pupillary distance, and provided no explanation at all about why not, other than to say that they weren’t obliged to and he was a locum so shouldn’t have said that! NB. this is a very quick, basic measurement with a ruler to verify the distance between your pupils, and may be required in order to buy glasses online, so gives you a choice where to get glasses from which is why I asked for it. One thing is for sure, I shouldn't have gone to Birkenhead Specsavers and won't be coming back or buying glasses from there - despite all the guff about customer service, this operation is clearly about profit not people!
