A nice enough station that has an old and oversized feel to it. Step free access is provided to all platforms via a ramped subway and there are typically 2 trains an hour towards the likes of Southampton, Basingstoke and Waterloo. Sundays sees a new service running hourly to Reading. GWR also provide trains towards Bristol, Bath and Cardiff but their trains are almost always overcrowded and aren't long enough for the insipid demand for their trains. SWR are in a similar boat too. Staff here are nice and the station also has decent enough facilities like shops and toilets. Buses towards Stonehenge also stop right outside the station which is very nice.

Long ramps to get you between platforms rather than stairs which is a positive. Couldn't find railway timetable outside station which wasn't! 10 or so minute walk from city centre. But plenty of independent shops to visit on way.

Great place! Easy way to Stonehenge bus stop just outside Salisbury Trainstation. Purchased the Stonehenge ground tour and aboard the green bus which took us to a long ride. I love the sceneries along the way. Make sure you refer to timetable and plan your time to catch the last bus back to station. When we got back, we stop at Old Sarum Castle ruins then from there we can take any red bus back to town for zohor/asar jama' qasar prayer in the city before walking back to the train station passing through Salisbury residential areas. Fascinating!

The station is a ten minute walk from Salisbury city centre and that's its only redeeming feature. The route to the station takes you through a scruffy part of town, with narrow pavements and very uneven surfaces. Access for pedestrians, especially across roads approaching the station bar the final zebra crossing, is appalling. Parking is almost non-existent. Inside the station things don't improve. The entrance is cramped and chaotic with no indication that all the barriers give access to all the platforms. Limited departure information is displayed, often confusingly, and while there are plenty of staff mooching about they mostly seem disinterested in the needs of passengers. Transfers between platforms are made through a tunnel under the tracks, with poorly surfaced and relatively steep ramps, which are dangerous for passengers with mobility problems. Overall the impression is that there's been zero investment in the station for a decade, if not more. If you're coming to Salisbury from Southampton city centre or Romsey the speed of the journey just about offsets the dreadful facilities. From anywhere else the Park & Ride is a better option.

Ticket fares are high, travelling quality is low. Wifi is poor. No chargers on trains. Bait the public into "ticket dodging" by leaving barriers open. Ticket machines have no ease of use. One ticket office is always open, out of three. Trains are often delayed, reason is rarely given. Have rules in place to deter ticket dodging, but allow some ticket dodgers to pay the ticket difference. Fine others without allowing them to pay the ticket difference. Overall are a company that is supposedly pleasant to the outside, which is truly disgusting in the inside.

Salisbury is public attraction due to its historical Cathedral. This station should b well managed n well staff. Despite that really dark kinda atmosphere, staff is busy in chatting at platform rather then reply what someone is asking. Floor is with patchy work. Everything seems like temporarily setup. The young lady at barriers was really friendly n helpful. The service provider for this station is Southwest trains from London but their service is not so comfy either. Not charging for mobile phones for that long route. Trains r really old. But the journey was so comfortable. Hope soon they update this station.

Service as you would expect. It only lost a star because the ticket machine had a brain fart and we had to go to the ticket office to complete our transaction. Station was clean and presentable with plenty of staff around to help.
