Long waiting times up to an hour, not worth the time!
Lyta Humphris I am looked after with care, and feel very lucky to be a patient in their surgery, The Doctors and staff are very overworked but they still give me a smile and time to listen and look after me
Helpful and friendly service.
I have often found the appointment wait time can be up to an hour. However all the Doctors are very supportive and the appropriate amount of time given regardless of time restrictions, so I never mind the wait. Personally I have always received the very best treatment and respect by all Drs, nurses and receptionists. I can't praise the surgery enough. The systems work well and I highly recommend this surgery to anyone. I often visit the different GP surgeries though working in the community and none come close the the sevice at Roborough. I have also used Roborough surgery through work and and my client always receives the best care. I can't speak highly enough and I am truly grateful for the high standard care given as at times I have had a few different health issues and no matter who I see the service is always of a high standard, this is partly due to the receptionists understanding. Thank you Roborough Surgery.
We must all write as we find. Expectations vary. Perhaps some are just too high. We are so lucky in this country to have a publicly funded medical service free to all in time of need. In most countries people are not so lucky. They would be delighted to get our level of service. The Herald has regularly carried letters complaining of the service provided by their GPs. That has not been my experience. Now very nearly 80 I was almost a stranger to the surgery until the last 4 years. That has changed and I am now becoming a regular for a variety of medical issues. The consequences of getting old! I have received excellent service. I have requested urgent appointments on a few occasions, always explaining the reasons for urgency. All my requests have met with a very speedy response. That has included face to face meetings with Drs or nurses or urgent phone calls as appropriate. The only problem has been delays when trying to phone, but at least we are now told where we are in the queue, so we can decide whether to hold on or try later.
Getting to see a doctor here is harder than getting an appointment with the Queen at Buckingham Palace and getting worse. Prescriptions I’ve also requested have twice not arrived at the designated pharmacy now meaning wasted journeys made. Have been a RS patient for over 30 years now but other issues in addition to those detailed above are giving us serious cause to consider moving surgeries.
Extremely poor service! I’ve struggled to get an appointment for a cervical smear test due to Covid. My smear is long overdue. When I was at the surgery the staff refused to make me an appointment face to face and told me I needed to telephone the receptionist to make my appointment. I finally managed to get an appointment for today. However, yesterday evening I received a telephone call from the nurse informing me that there would be an Assessor present at the appointment. I said I was not happy for this and it was not discussed with me when I made my appointment. I was told that UNLESS I am prepared to have an Assessor at my appointment, my appointment will be cancelled! The nurse also said she would call me this morning to confirm. I have not heard from the surgery as promised, so I can only assume they cancelled my appointment! This is putting lives at risk and pressurising females into having an audience at their smear test! Is it any wonder why so many women die from cervical cancer every year!
Roborough Surgery is a good place to go if you are not well. They send the prescription up to Tesco for you to collect for tablets.
This surgery is so much better than it was last year. The reception team answer the phone quickly are very polite and helpful too. Thank you Roborough surgery.. Keep up the good work.
