This is one of the most beautiful greenery I have seen this year. There was something so simple and beautiful about the Moss that was covering the majority of the Roscoe and the trees nearby that felt incredible. A great break from the inner city that is for sure. Parking is currently free but seemed it would usually be a £2 charge so for the hours we got out of this work that is a small price to pay

Beautiful walk! Think it was my favourite of the peaks. Road side parking is limited but it wasn’t busy midweek. Imagine harder to get a spot at weekends. There is a national trust visitors center you can walk to which has toilets, cafe and stately home walks on offer. However the real walk is the opposite side of the road where you can follow a river through the forest. Lovely and peaceful, a slow decline down. A bit more demanding coming back up but not too bad. Lots of beautiful picture opportunities. Quite a lot of wildlife in the forest to watch though if you are lucky to see them. Doesn’t seem as busy as some other locations. Highly recommend as a walk, length can vary depending what paths you do and if you choose to combine them. There is a pond if you head towards the visitors centre with some lovely ducks on it

A very unique landscape for the Peaks, the path is well-defined but still rugged in places. Unfortunately it's a very popular location, so while that means it's well-equipped with buses and food trucks, the paths are always very busy.

A very beautiful but also popular place to visit, sadly its popularity is starting have some impact on this special location. Terrain can be slippery in places so good boots needed. At time of posting parking is free near the station.
