Mixed views about the restaurant. The view over the iconic Forth Bridge is stunning and the menu is varied and appetising. Prices are high considering the location, the quality of the food and what felt like inexperienced, albeit friendly, staff. We waited well over an hour for our first course and it was almost 10:30pm by the time we got our mains. It felt like we had been forgotten over the course of the meal as different members of our party had to leave the table to find someone to take additional drinks orders. We were sat under an air conditioning vent and had to ask a couple of times for the unit to be turned down as it was too cold. Other customers must have complained about it being too warm elsewhere in the restaurant as it was switched back on within a few minutes of us asking. We have visited before and it has been very good so this was disappointing, especially considering how much the party spent. Maybe it was just an off night.

Having stayed overnight and also enjoyed an evening in the restaurant and bar, I can say that every aspect was top quality. Room was great, comfortable and spacious. The food was top notch with dishes in Samphire fresh, balanced and very tasty. The veg breakfast was a game changer too, set us up for the day! The view is stunning to boot, a real gem of a hotel

Our first time dining in the restaurant. Seated and advised as its before 7pm we could have a set menu or the main. Given the main menu and waited for set menu. 20 mins later our server turned up and ignored our request for the set menu as it was now after 7pm. The food was mixed. My partner starter was lovely mine was nonexistent (portion sizes are oddly very unbalanced). We didn't enjoy our main courses. The atmosphere is very nice and you have a great view. Staff appeared to be very mixed. Very nice and others had a little attitude. Shame maybe just not our night.

The brochure will give you the obvious pictures. So yes. The location is superb. Yes the rooms are lovely. Some with great views. Ours had a quiet aircon unit. Prices are a bit like DUBLIN. But not bad for a hotel. But people make it. Serving staff reflect the mood of a generation, bright positive, possibility. Housekeeping staff too. Wonderful. On a day to day basis, the hire is a managed primarily by young people. So there the odd hiccup an older more experienced manager wouldn’t make. But that is fine. They know their process and execute it beautifully. Nothing too much trouble. For the wedding itself, their event management was flawless. And I mean to the last detail. Faultless. Perfection. And with a big smile. When you see your bar staff singing along and then the young lady who first served us breakfast is now hugging you in the bar, then you know something is right. I know. I know. I see the best in people. I give five stars. Well wait till you see the review of the car hire firm. That won’t be even a one. Thank you.

Attended a function here. The function room was first class with a full length window looking out over the Forth river. A large range of beers were available and the afternoon tea was very nice. A balcony allowed access outside and even to the beach. First rate all round
