The setting for lunch is lovely overlooking the river. However the food is ho hum pub food and not good quality. Caesar salad had hard dark green cos leaves, brown bread crusts instead of croutons and chicken tasted unusual. My medium rump steak was cooked right but lacked taste and frozen peas seemed microwaved. Wait staff were friendly and helpful. Be mindful you need to pay as you go

Only there 4 drinks can't knock the pub. The wife took a tumble outside and the staff looked after her. Made a fuss for next 3 hours. She loved it.

Lovely setting lovely meals for 4 out of 6 but the fish and chips came out obviously reheated and we asked for cheese on the burger and it didn't happen. Then the fish and chips that was cold came out 30 mins later. Although they did a refund for the meal that would have been eaten on their own because everyone else had finished. Can I just say that all the other meals we have had have been impeccable and the beat advice I can give is to ask if the lady chef with the pink hair is working and your meal will be 5 star quality.

I've been in here regularly for nearly twenty years, today it really wasn't very friendly at all, took ages to be served despite being the only person waiting for a drink and all of the urinals are out of order and brimming! It's such a beautiful location and could be great.

A bit of a wasted opportunity fur the owners. A lovely old building in a beautiful setting, but it's really been allowed to age badly - carpets when through, plaster hanging off the wall in the room, cracked sink.... The bar is lovely and cozy though, with friendly staff. The food was extremely variable - a good steak one night, very tasty (but not overly generous) breakfast, a terrible fish pie that was topped with cold instant mash. The rooms were clean and we had a comfortable stay. But I don't think we'd go back unless there was new management.

3 meals ordered and 2 were served totally burnt to a crisp. Why the chef thought these were edible meals defeats me. Absolutely dreadful. On the plus side the drinks and orders were taken by a helpful young lady who apologised profusely and also refunded some of our bill without question when she looked at our food. Very disappointing as we had a lovely meal here a few months ago.

Excellent welcome and check in. Beautiful location. A breakfast to be recommended. Grant is a professional at customer care and made our stay the best. The Back Bar was a marvellous place to spend the evening. I also enjoyed a superb sea bass in the beautiful Old Mill restaurant.

In some need of updating, but the staff and food made up for it. The setting with the millpond and Salisbury Cathedral in the distance made the visit so much better. . And, I must say that the brace of Guinness, that I ordered, could not be faulted. Well done to the team 👏
