Nice place to sit and have a bite while visiting in Salisbury. They have a wide variety of food and beverages and are rationally priced. I found the pastry fresh and very tasty. The location is ideal when visiting the cathedral. Overall... not bad.

On arrival we were greeted immediately with an apology that there might be a wait in being served as they were short staffed. However the waitress was fantastic and although very busy managed to take orders and deliver food to all around while staying cheerfull and positive. The food arrived pretty quickly and was the usual cafe rouge good standard. In the end no wait at all and an enjoyable meal.

Staff very friendly. Food tasty but warm rather than hot when served and they really need to learn how to cook a proper duck confit. Meat was tender but not crispy as it should be. Their chefs should also pay more attention to presentation and aesthetic appeal of the food they serve, especially desserts. Two scoops of ice creams with no sauce, sprinkles etc. and slice of lemon tart also on its own, no decoration whatsoever.

I’ve been twice now and both times the man behind the bar, who I presume was the manager , was extremely rude to the young waitresses working there. This was uncomfortable to see. The most recent time we went here for lunch and although the restaurant was half empty and there were only two of us he told the young waitress to turn us away due to being understaffed. She was obviously uncomfortable about this and in earshot of us he refused to be the one who told us, so the poor girl had to. An incredible lack of customer service and leadership. I will not be attending here again purely because of this individual and his attitude towards his staff and customers.

Had to wait over 20 minutes for breakfast and when it arrived the eggs were undercooked and had to be returned. Cups and milk jug dirty,l like they needed a good scrub! Waitress very pleasant and a little embarrassed by the food she had to serve. Very disappointed and wouldn't eat here again
