Content warning: mention of needles, veins etc I had a really good experience with the radiology department as an outpatient in February and would like to commend them. I had traveled to see a specialist and was greeted at the radiology reception very warmly by a radiologist named Matt who got me comfortable and settled. I was there for a CT venogram with contrast, which requires a cannula, and as my veins can be quite tricky and previous cannulas have failed, I was a bit worried. The team were already dealing with a patient with very difficult veins which had required help from another department, so were running behind and under pressure. Despite that, they took the time to run through all of my information very thoroughly, answer my question fully, and carefully select the best veins. As suspected there was an issue finding a good vein but they did not get frustrated, and treated me very carefully and gently. Once the cannula was placed they helped me feel calm and prepared about the contrast injection. Jo and Ricardo who carried out the scan were also very kind, friendly, and patient. The entire time I felt well cared for, as relaxed as I could be, and like a person, not just another patient to tick off the list. I only just tried to open my CD of the scan this week and when I did found some of the images were missing. We contacted radiology who immediately sent a new CD which arrived the next day, with all of the correct images. I am also very grateful to the consultant, Dr Higgins, and his commitment to patient well-being and finding answers where others would turn their backs at the first hurdle. Overall this was a wonderful experience (or, as wonderful as a medical test can be), and I am grateful to the team for their kindness and professionalism, and to the hospital for maintaining such high standard of care.

Absolutely demeaning. I went for a hip consultation and the guy hardly looked at me and didn't pay attention to a single word I said or any of my medical history. I had a referral to go there for a fai hip impingement surgery and the guy basically said he doesn't see a point in doing a surgery that is only done once or twice a year and that my muscles are just weak and I need to strengthen them. I had been going to physical therapy for 1.5 years and couldn't make significant progress because of the pain. Not to mention he completely reversed everything I said when he wrote up the report. Definitely not recommending this place if you have hip/knee/lower back or shoulder pain

I went to the Nuffield in Cambridge to be treated for stage 1 ovarian cancer. I had a total hysterectomy & have just finished 6 sessions of chemo. My surgeon Mr Halder and the oncologist nurses were all incredibly supportive, informative and caring. I highly recommend the Nuffield at Cambridge and would definitely use it again.

Dr Klein at the Iron Clinic in the Nuffield Hospital is a life saver. I was incapacitated by Pernitious Anemia to the point that I couldn't walk or feed myself and my GP kept saying I should go home and rest. Dr Klein looked at my blood tests, was able to identify my anemia straight away. Gave me an iron infusion and B12 injection. 10 days after the iron infusion I was 80% better than before, by day 12 I was 90% better. I even went for an hour bike ride, when just a month before I could not even wash myself! Best consultant you'll ever see! He's caring, approachable, friendly and passionate about helping people! If all drs were like him, the world would be a better place!
