I'm quite surprised at the feedback on Google reviews. Whenever I attend the practice, which is fairly regularly, the staff, especially reception are nothing but courteous , respectful and kind. I'm able to be seen on the same day if I have an urgent health ailment and all queries are resolved. I once had a concern with a nurse that didn't clean an area before taking blood, however, the managing staff where extremely apologetic and assured me that wouldn't happen again. Staff were reassuring. The doctors are always thorough, empathetic and kind. I feel like this is a really good all rounder. I think with regards to any GP you can always expect to wait. Doctors only have a small time slot, to assess and treat and unfortunately, not all slots are straight forward and doctors/ nurses over run. It's just one of those things. I'm grateful for the services I've received to date, thank you.

Very Rude Receptionist called Becky I was explaining my concerns over my daughters condition and mid conversation she said 'no need to be rude'?? I asked her politely three times how was I rude but she continued to talk over me in the end I managed to arrange for the Dr to call us back. I then asked for her name, so Im assuming she will be expecting this bad review.

Even if it takes time to get your phone call answered, you are treated with dignity and respect. The doctors are professional and are always doing their best to help. The only thing I don’t like about it is that they won’t give you an appointment unless you phoned.

Horrible experience with nurse Charlotte. Never felt so belittled by anyone, so rude and patronising. It is scary enough to go to an appointment without being questioned on whether you are entitled to be there for 20 minutes when what you need is actually nearly a year and a half over due. Accidents happen and paperwork can get lost when changing gps two years ago etc, but the issue was resolved multiple times over the phone months ago and it was made clear to me that the documentation was found and there was no problem. There was no need to try to intimidate me or be rude because the right information did not get to the nurse. I have never been spoken to like that as an adult ever and nearly left without completing my appointment after being made to feel so uncomfortable even though it was so important. I have never ever complained about any nhs staff but I don't want this to happen to other people and hope there is more patience and professionalism in future.

Unfortunately, this lovely building doesn't have such lovely systems. The telephone booking gives quite a long recorded preamble before announcing at the end: "All of our lines are busy; call again later." It's an intensely frustrating process to be seen. Once seen, you never know who it will be. And if you have a non urgent need, booking an appointment feels like running an obstacle course. All for 10 minutes. There must be a better way.

Never had an issue getting an appointment at short notice, always treated with politeness and respect from all members of the team, from the front desk on.

Good luck getting through. Despite it being the 21st century North Cardiff Medical Centre don't seem to be aware of telephone systems that allow callers to queue to speak to someone, so the experience of getting an appointment is having to ring the line dozens of times at 8am just to hear the busy tone and be immediately cut off. On top of that, the reception staff seem completely incapable of common sense or compassion. Despite there being an enormous waiting room my 37 week pregnant wife was asked to stand outside and wait for her appointment rather than take a seat, because there were two other patients in the surgery. I understand that covid restrictions are important, but this GP seems to be adhering to them at the expense of common sense or compassion.
