Thank God google has allowed me to post my review, since NHS declined. Almost 18 months ago I visited the neurological clinic at Southmead hospital. They put a letter together for the gp with some prescribed meds to try over the course of time. Some meds a patient would try without really reviewing if there are going to be any major side effects. Even at the pharmacy they were questioning me - are you sure you want to take this drug? It's just unbelievable - how can I reply that question? I start with a given health issue and I end up with 2 more through the course of time which I have to manage for the rest of my life. Well done! On the other hand the department is so busy that I've been trying to schedule a follow-up, but it's so difficult. So if someone has a disease that needs specialist attention you would be seen once in 2 yrs and you would be prescribed some meds on an experimental basis.

Once I received my NHS COVID vaccination confirmation via text complete with address, I googled the exact location and closest car park and as I'm pretty familiar with the site, it wasn't hard to work out where I needed to get to. I'm glad I did because once we entered the main entrance to the site, there was no direction at all and Southmead Hospital is a big ol bird (in our immediate locality, vaccination centres are signposted everywhere on big yellow signs.) Even when you get to the building (Learning and Research), there's no indication you're in the right place. Better direction to the correct location is my only constructive criticism. Once inside, the staff were very welcoming and the process for checking in, paperwork, jab, waiting and booking next one was easy and clear provision for infection control was made and accessible. Keep up the good work.
