Had to sort out an issue with payments coming out of my account so rang them up. Best customer service I have ever had via phone and from natwest itself. The 28 year old lad, I couldnt remember his name, was very nice and friendly; helped to sort out my issue. :)

Clocks Wrong -- Complain & They'll Close Your Account! I used to live in Salisbury and had a current account here. Problem was their clocks were running up to 5 minutes fast, so they would close their doors 5 minutes prior to their published closing times. I complained. They said their clocks were regulated by signals sent from head office, which were clearly wrong. They also said that I was on their premises after closing time and thus a 'security risk'; they even threatened to call the police as I was on the inside doormat, about to depart, having concluded my normal business. The staff are clearly psychopathic with no respect for time, customers or even retaining business. They closed my account, which had been run within the rules, uneventfully. I even wrote to their CEO, Fred 'The Shred' Goodwin, who sided with his staff, at all times IGNORING the fact that their clocks were wrong. I walked to Barclays Bank nearby and opened a current account there; they have provided good service to this day. An appalling attitude by Natwest from the foyer to the boardroom. Why would anyone want to bank with such a dreadful firm when respectful alternatives are available?

NatWest seems to have forgotten how to behave in a business manner. There is no direct telephone link to the branch and promises made by call centre staff to call back at specific times have not been honoured. As two elderly and longstanding customer we are extremely disappointed and frustrated. We wish a specific question to be addressed by a member of staff with a particular competence - we cannot afford to journey to the branch to stand hopefully in-line in the hope of support.
