1 star is the lowest I can go, absolutely disgusted in the service received in branch and via telephone, only helpful depart was complaints who were very understanding. After being told I had a 15minute slot where I could be late (via customer service), due to running late (newborn and disability). My husband ran ahead and was there between the 15 minute gap to be told it was 10 minutes so we were then 2minutes late and they would not accommodate and told us no!! The journey for us to this branch is 30 minutes. However complaints handled it very well.

Appalling customer service. I have been given the branch telephone number by head office and have spend the last 30 minutes calling and being thrown off the line every 3 minutes 8 seconds. No message, no ring back service, nothing. And guess what, I was ringing to complain anyway so want to take a stab at how I'm feeling right now?

I called into the branch on Saturday morning the 28th, this was the first time in many years of going into a bank. I initially set off with dreaded fear of being messed about and being passed around, expecting to have to make an appointment. I couldn't be more wrong! The branch is so welcoming and friendly. The moment I stepped inside I was asked by a staff member how they could help. I was then greeted by a consultant who went through my requirements so professionally and speedily leaving me very impressed with the way we were treated. The branch is lovely inside and nothing like the old fashioned tills and glass screens. I even managed to re-set my card pin number without all the old hassle of letters or phone calls back and forth. I was in and out in no time at all and very impressed with the excellent customer service provided, well done the team.

Barclays bank is Europe’s most prolific investor in fossil fuel projects. In fact, they’ve increased their investments in extractive projects in recent years. On their website, Barclays says its ‘purpose’ is to “deploy finance responsibly to support people and businesses.” Can you explain how spending £104 billion on fossil fuels is ‘responsible’, when climate breakdown causes 150,000 deaths each year? On their website, it also says that “Barclays’ success is judged by how they act responsibly for the common good and the long term. How is contributing to 150,000 deaths a year ‘responsible’? Their CEO was paid a £4 million bonus in 2020. On the website, it also says that Barclays provides assistance for people going through difficult times. In 2020, 55 million people were displaced due to climate change. Does Barclays provide support to their customers when they’re affected by extreme weather?

Useless if you need to speak to someone at the counter and work full time 5 days a week. They don't open the counters on a Saturday. Pretty unfair
