Very nice house, nice gardens, can get very busy
Always loved this place. It has a simplicity seldom found in old buildings. I keep on going and I keep on loving it!
Most enjoyable visit completed with Turkey and stuffing bap complete with gravy. A great start to Xmas festivities. Looking forward to summer visit when hopefully the weather will be better.
What a beautiful place. The gardens are perfect for families with children of all ages.
Our first ever visit here, its lovely. Very well organized, clean and well cared for. The house was not open as it was January but we were still there a good few hours. Walks galore around the grounds with stunning views. The gardens are really well kept with lots of plants and bulbs waking up, summer must be beautiful to see. There is a cafe available with outside seating too but we did not use as we had brought a picnic, plenty of outside picnic benches for use if you bring your own. We will return here often I am sure, so much to do ( I really want to see the inside of the house) and lots of walks too.
Arrived about 11 on a Friday morning. Not too crowded at that time. Short queue for coffee but tracing process took some time with some customers! Straight in to the house but quite a long queue when we came out( timed it right!). lovely picnic - lots of tables available. Long walk through the parkland, uphill on return to car! A lovely birthday.
A must see. Very interesting history. Bess, what a woman. She went on a tapestry buying binge and covers the walls! Also the longest portrait gallery in a private house, most impressive. Lovely walk around the grounds, worth while doing if you have the time.
Wow, this place is amazing. Really close to the motorway so accessible. Grounds and gardens stunning (even in November when I visited), and plenty of walks. House was stunning, well laid out and with lots of information. Shop and cafe/restaurant good value. All round well worth a visit.
What an experience! Everyone was super friendly and welcoming. The furniture and fabrics were exquisite. Well worth a visit! Will definitely visit again in the near future.
