Molly Browns – Mother of the Bride & Bridal York york

Visited today to look for a hat for my daughters wedding. Not really having an idea of style was helped by Angela. From start to finish made it a lovely experience and nothing was to much trouble. She brought numerous styles and gave good advice and opinion. And I left a very happy customer with my purchase

I took my mum to Molly Brown's on Friday to help get her an idea of what she would like to wear for my wedding next year. She had been really nervous about getting something so I wanted to help her relax. We come to York every year and always go into the Molly Browns shops so it was only right that we went there first. Well, what can I say other than they were absolutely fantastic. Angela, the manager, helped me set up the appointment via email and even helped me to arrange a card and some flowers to be presented on the day to help my mum feel extra special. On the day of the appointment, it was Carol and Sheila who were in the store and who helped my mum find her perfect outfit. Carol was so wonderful and really knows her stuff. She helped my mum relax and, even though it was supposed to just be to have a look, my mum ended up picking her outfit and putting down the deposit. I have honestly never seen my mum so happy and confident in something she was wearing and she was absolutely made up, there were lots of tears and hugging and she left looking, and feeling, like a million dollars. Sheila then very kindly took us all to the Prom and Evening wear shop just up the road so that my adorable niece could try some dresses on as she was absolutely desperate having been so patient whilst my mum was getting sorted out...and we ended up coming away with her dress too!! The whole afternoon was so wonderful and special and the ladies at Molly Browns couldn't have been more helpful. It was so worth the trip and I highly recommend all the staff and all the stores if you have a special event coming up. We are so excited for the wedding now and will definitely send a pic when the day comes around. Thank you again ladies, you are wonderful!! Anoushka & Mum xxx

We dropped into Molly Browns on the off chance they may help my mum find an outfit for my wedding. We were greeted by Dawn who was just fabulous. My mum is very self conscious, and was dreading it. Dawn assured mum she’d find something for her, and showed mum a few dresses which she agreed to try. As we went to try them on, Dawn suddenly pulled one more out, which was beautiful. Mum tried that one first, and she cane out beaming. She loved it...and said for the first time ever, she felt beautiful. When Dawn suggested a hat, my mum immediately said no and said they don’t suit her. I asked Dawn if she thought there was one which might suit her, to try on mum. And, again, Dawn surpassed all expectations and found the perfect hat which finished the outfit perfectly, and mum loved it. Mum didn’t stop smiling that day, and we can’t thank Dawn enough for her service, and making my mum feel amazing. Thank you

As a first time customer of Molly Browns I can't recommend them enough. The customer service was second to none. The range of mother of the bride/groom dresses was amazing. It was very difficult to choose the outfit I liked the best. The lovely ladies who worked there offered good constructive advice and helped me to make my choice. I will definitely be shopping there again.

Beautiful shop with lovely atmosphere. Fantastic ranges of clothing, with excellent service. Had an appointment for mother of the bride and was extremely well looked after. Offered coffee and Prosecco which is all part of the first class service offered in this amazing shop!

I would just like to share my positive experience of finding the perfect Mother of the Bride outfit at Molly Browns in York. I was visiting York from Edinburgh and popped in to Molly Browns to get some ideas to wear at my daughter's wedding last month as I was informed that they had a wide choice of outfits in store. I was warmly greeted by Dawn who assisted me in finding the perfect dress along with the matching accessories of hat, shoes and a bag. I can't thank Dawn enough for all her expert help and advice and for making the whole experience of choosing such an important outfit a very pleasurable and stress free process. She helped me to look and feel elegant on the day and I received many lovely compliments! I certainly highly recommend Molly Browns to any future Mother of the Bride in helping them to choose their perfect outfit for the big day.

I cannot recommend Molly Browns - Mother of the Bride and Bridal enough. I had to re-arrange my daughters wedding four times over many seasons due to Covid/lock down. Because of this I held back purchasing an outfit which would suit the season. I kept my eye on the beautiful dresses with jackets sold by Molly Browns. As soon as I had a confirmed date I ordered online. My chosen outfit arrived beautifully wrapped and in perfect ready to wear condition. To my surprise as a plus size lady the dress and jacket fitted perfectly. The service was wonderful and I would and will be using Molly Browns for special occasions in the future. On another note this is the first dress I have worn in many years and felt like a million dollars. I had lots of people asking where I purchased my outfit. Thank you Molly Browns

Had the most wonderful experience today finding an outfit for my mum. All of the staff were so professional and welcoming, especially Dawn who put us all at ease, was so lovely, so helpful, and had the patience of a saint as she helped us find the perfect outfit. 100% recommend this boutique.
