This surgery could do better. Being busy is not an excuse for poor service. I recently called for an appointment as I had run out of tablets and required a review. The receptionist decided to quiz me on my ability to order a repeat before I run out. And I would be happy to do so if I could get an appointment. I called at 8.30 am the line was busy. 8.40 am line busy. 8.50 am line busy. I get through at 10am Monday morning. No appointments this week (we're only an hour and a half into the week!) I have to call tomorrow at 8.30am... I wonder if the line will be busy? My previous doctor in oakwood (recently moved) was miles better and I appreciate the demographics will be different, was dealing with similar busy periods and financial restraints. The management team was obviously better at my old gp and perhaps the management at this gp requires a review? Despite the receptionist trying to get rid of me by saying I had to call back in the morning I insisted I need a prescription today. I finally got her to agree to getting the doctor to have a look at providing a prescription without a review. I have to call back this afternoon. (By the way, when I did get through at 10am I had to stay on the phone while it was ringing for ages before someone decided to answer). I think I'll submit a formal complaint.

Great doctors at this surgery, however sadly one extremely unpleasant receptionist. My 8 week old son has reflux and cows milk allergy. He’s on a repeat prescription for both of these things. One week I can ring up and order his next lot of milk and medicine over the phone the next week I cannot. The first time they got the prescription wrong and then this one receptionist was extremely rude to me even though the mistake was the surgery’s fault. When asking for the official compliant procedure form the receptionist walks off to find one however comes back and says they do not have one and to put it in a letter but refused to give me practice mangers name. I never leave reviews but I feel so strongly about this.

Absolutely horrid receptionists, they should be ashamed of themselves, they are there to help patients as much as they can not be awkward and difficult! I was only dropping something in on behalf of a poorly elderly friend, just glad this isn't my Doctor's surgery. They need to be retrained or replaced or something is going to go wrong for a patient one day and it will be all their fault.

The receptionists are absolutely disgraceful. My mother enquired about getting her flu jab and was told ‘no. we’ve got no supplies’, there was then silence and my mother said ‘so should I ring back again in a week?’ and the receptionist replied ‘if you want’. So incredibly useless! Get new receptionists, ones that are capable of providing a friendly, competent service. We’ve NEVER had a pleasant experience with ANY of the receptionists at this surgery.
