Mercure Oxford Eastgate Hotel oxford

Incredible "authentic English" hotel, so I imagined the houses in England. It has a wonderful charm with the windows and the stones and inside with the wooden floors, the carpets and the narrow corridors. The rooms are still modern and very straight, which I really liked. The view of the old college next door has made the stay even more authentic.

I had a brilliant experience as I received pure quality from the staff and the environment holistically. The staff was exceptionally polite and ensured that we were comfortable and satisfied.

Nice cosy hotel in old coach house. Breakfast delivered to the room was excellent and well presented. A tiny bit noisy at night as room was on the main high street where college revellers rolled past and the windows are single glazed as listed building. Not many places to stay in central Oxford to slightly more expensive than it probably should be.

The staff were very friendly and the hotel is situated in a convenient spot for shopping/sightseeing. Our room was a bit small really for 2 people, but I personally loved the layout of it. We were on the 3rd floor at the back of the hotel so it was nice and quiet. The room was clean and the shower was lovely and powerful. The reason I'm giving 4 stars is because of the small room and the fact we only had enough toiletries for one person really (though I think if is asked for more we'd have got it). The breakfast was excellent. It was waitress service so everything was hot and tasted freshly cooked. We also had lunch the next day and again the service and food was lovely. We had taken the train there and had backpacks with us, and they let us keep them there for us while we explored Oxford's colleges and parks. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would go back. If I could've given 4.5 stars I would have.

I had a pleasant experience with you lot your hotel is brilliant, everything is so clean and organised, I was impressed with the staff friendliness, size of my bedroom was just perfect more than enough space .

Although the rooms are really quite nice we were really disappointed that we were not informed of the closure of the attached bar and restaurant which we'd hoped to spend our first evening at, as my mother in law can't walk far at all and we knew she'd be quite tired after the drive, so having the option of her going to her room whenever she felt like, was going to be paramount when we booked. We even checked about booking the restaurant when we booked the rooms, but presumably it was decided after we booked to do the refurbishments . This really detracted from what was otherwise a great and really special event for the whole family ( son in laws graduation a 1st no less ) . Unfortunate as i don't like to leave bad reviews unless really deserved, a phone call would have helped greatly!

Great location. Stayed in the annex at the rear. Very trendy decor, comfy bed really big Smart TV and big walk in shower. A little dark as only a very small window. Breakfast good. Parking limited and £20 per night. However would stay again.

Overall a first class service. Good clean room and facilities. Polite and friendly staff who were very friendly and professional. Disabled room facilities provided for my elderly mother were good and mother than adequate. breakfast and dinner was excellent I would not hesitate in recommending this hotel and would gladly book again.

Excellent breakfast with hot orders plus a really nice take on usual cold fare. Huge rooms, absolutely beautiful bathroom with rain-shower and tons of space. Really lovely inside the room. The location is as good as you can get for the city centre too.

Great hotel. Brilliant room. Excellent location and amazing staff. Extremely welcoming and nothing was any hassle for them. Would highly recommend and had a great stay
