I have just visited this post office. I have to say what rude people and what a horrible expierence. I only wanted to post 1 A5 letter. I was told that it had to be sent as a large letter because the post man might have to give it a little shove to get it through a letter box and the post office would be marked down if that happens? The rude woman behind the counter told me2 I will sell you a stamp but you have to post it in a post box youself". When i asked where there was a post box she shrugged and said "i don't know somewhere round Shoreham" With this a man appeared and said that he would hand it to the post man. I asked him to assure me that this would be done and he just shrugged. I was very concerned by this time that my letter would not reach it's destination and it was a very important. I can't ever remember leaving a british post of and feeling in doubt that my letter would not reach it's destination. When I said that i wished that our oringinal post office could be reinstated I was told to "dream on" Peolpe like this do not desearve any custom and they will not be recieveing mine again, i will also relate this story to as many people in shoreham as possible.

Wonderful, friendly family run business. I come in most days and am always greeted with a smile no matter who serves me! Everyone is welcoming and very helpful with any queries regarding posting items. The prices for the products in the shop are surprisingly brilliant for a small independent store, a lot of the time even cheaper than Tesco! They also have a photocopier and because they're open all day and evening I don't have to be let down by the library's small opening hours. The alcohol selection is outstanding, they have a lot of my favourite European beers! They also have a lovely selection of masks and greeting cards which are painted by the local artist Sally Cooper

A post office with a difference... I loved the old Shoreham PO of course but one advantage of Maxi’s is that it is open after normal hours and many things can be weighed and stamped even if you’ve missed the post and money paid in etc. Family-run and lovely management, some staff sometimes have gruff exterior but that hides a kindness and warmth and service is very efficient. And Maxi’s is transforming before our eyes from just a “convenience store” to a wonderfully stocked health/plant-based food and low-packaging store with refill stations for staples like rice and lentils and pasta to on-tap fresh Cornish milk and oat milk, olive oil and spices, eco laundry liquid and shampoo and so much more. Definitely worth a visit. I love filling up my glass bottle with that milk! It still sells chocolate and crisps and wine too...:-)
