Had a three bedroom apartment, view over the pool. Good size balcony. The rooms were clean. Serviced once during the week which didn't bother us. Great location.

Spacious clean rooms. Amazing location. Friendly, helpful staff. My only criticism is not being able to drink by the pool, especially if there is no bar or restaurant on site.

Service was absolutely amazing. Every staff member we spoke to were willing to go above and beyond. Amazing team. Unfortunately the hotel is starting to it’s age. The rooms are dated, the power points are too close to the floor so can have issues plugging certain devices in, the carpet was filthy in both rooms we stayed in and the bathrooms are pretty dated. The pool and staff were terrific though.

Sadly we were pre booked into the mantra otherwise we would have been out of there the first hour. We chose this place because it was supposed to have a laundry service and restaurant , since staying there I have checked and have found at least six sites still are advertising the amenities. First problem we encountered was we had a room with a view but could not open window and no balcony as the air conditioner was up full blast but was not cooling properly, second problem was the bathroom had a shower in the bathtub with a large screen more than two thirds the length of the tub with no anti slip mat on floor outside tub. Next problem was only one towel in the room, had to down to front desk to get more towels also we asked about tourist things to see and was given tourist bus pamphlet, in the mantra site there was supposed to be tourist information on site also again asked about laundry service as we wanted to wash and iron clothes for the next part of our holiday to to be told the was a laundromat down the road and around the corner, which was not correct as it was a long long way down the road. The next problem we had was the bed only had 1 sheet had a throw over bed spread which did not fit the bed. As there were no dining facilities we thought were would get something to eat and bring it back to the room to eat as it was so hot, but could only find a can opener? two cups and two teaspoons nothing else. On the next day had a shower and went get out of bathtub and slipped on floor hitting the front of my torso against the narrow edge of the screen causing bruising from the collarbone to waist. The next morning went down to front desk and reported it and asked for a incident report and demanded a floor mat and I would be picking up a second bed sheet when I got back. Upon returning went to desk and asked for the mat which had been dropped off and she would get the sheet sent up, I also asked if there was an incident report and I wanted to see someone who was in charge. Later that afternoon a lady who we think was the house keeping manager and another young lass came to the door with two more sheets, asked her if there was an incident report and she said yes.we told her of all the other problems and as people always say it is COVID’s fault not incompetents by the establishment. She told us the lack of towels and sheets was due to supply and industrial problems to which I said we are there three nights we get one sheet if the room was booked for three seperate nights that would be three sheets so why didn’t we get two sheets unless the sheets were not changed, I think logic missed the mark. Upon leaving there was nobody at the desk except the so called security guard who every time we seen him never left the lounge at the end of the foyer. At 7.00 when we left there were people coming down from there rooms and asked us where the buffet breakfast was, to their look of disbelief we told them there was none. Also on the Ghan we ran into two other women who also had to trudge down to the laundromat the day before continuing there trip to do washing staying at the mantra only so they could do washing. I had originally rated the mantra Sydney as the worst accomodation we have stayed at but now Darwin gets first prize. As a side note when I got to the Ghan I was was struggling a bit with pain and bruises the Ghan people offered me assistance for any problems I might have, one week later I still have not been contacted by the mantra, makes me wonder whether an accident report ever went in? The only reason we have rated 1 is because you cannot give a zero or minus. In the days ahead my next contact is going to be Accor until I get satisfaction.
