Just had a curly cut yesterday with Amy. The shop was set up really well with limited numbers and in line with all current recommendations. First curly cut and the first haircut I've had where someone actually understood my hair and cut it to what it looks like everyday not what it looks like for 10 minutes after you walk out. I absolutely love it thank you 😊

The best haircut I've had in a long time. I have a frizzy, damaged hair that needed a refresh. Amy did a great job and gave my hair a new life. I have my lovely, defined curls back now! I will be back for sure.

Tina and Jenny did the hair and make up for myself, my 5 bridesmaids and my mum at my recent wedding. They travelled up to the Cairngorms for the wedding, were brilliant all through the planning (and postponing!) process and everyone commented on our beautifully done our hair and make up was. All 7 of us have fairly different hair and skin, but Tina and Jenny were brilliant at adapting. Tina did a particularly beautiful job with my sister's very curly hair. On the day, nothing was too much, including minor change and top up requests. My trial day was also a great experience. I'm so glad I chose such talented hair and make up artists!

Please, for the sake of your curls and your self esteem, avoid this place. I am beyond disappointed with the atrocious service, the lack of knowledge and the poor/random technique to cut and style my hair. This place is not suitable for anyone especially women of colour. The staff do not posses the manners or the skill to deal with curly hair. I had booked in for a Naturally Curly Cut. I had no consultation about my curls, hair texture or type. The lady snipped strands of hair without paying attention to what she was doing as she was making small talk with me. Thus resulting in a terrible and uneven cut. A section of my hair is sticking out like Cameron Dias in There’s Something About Mary/ looking like the rejected part of a birds nest. I specifically said I only wanted a dry cut. The hairdresser proceeded to wash my hair and cut it from the length which I told her not to do. Listening skills were very poor. Once my hair was wet, she sectioned my hair using her stiletto shaped Acrylic nails instead of using a tail comb. This abysmal and unhygienic practice has left my scalp sore, sensitive and uncomfortable. She then saturated my hair in product and poorly attempted to dry it. The senior hairdresser patted the woman who was doing my hair on the arm and said “time”. At this point my hair was still soaking wet. I was verbally ushered out the door in the cold, after paying £70. My appointment was meant to start at 2pm. The hairdresser was 15 minutes late, to which I didn’t mind. At the end I realised the 15 minutes was taken out of my appointment which i thought was cruel and unfair. For the duration of my waiting time before my appointment, I watched as the most senior stylist was asking her client questions about how she styles her hair, how often she washes it, what washing method she uses etc etc. I want to reiterate that I didn’t even receive a fraction of this service or politeness from any of the staff from the time I walked in until the time I left. Big shout out the the staff at the Drouthy Neebors (pub along the road from Lipstick,Lashes and Locks) who let me dry my hair under the hand dryer in the toilets, as it was -1 outside when I left the hairdressers.

Had done some research on hairdressers that had a bit of curly hair experience. I was not disappointed with Lipstick Lashes & Locks. Ariana was amazing, friendly and knowledgeable! As a curly haired lady, I'm used to hairdressers wanting my hair straight and cutting shorter than intended as the curl always bounces up. Ariana took time to listen to how I wash and style my curls, guided me with the best way to colour and tone it and cut to suit my curl pattern (wet and dry cutting), even the seats assist with curly hair drying as they lie back. So happy with the results. Finally I have found a hairdresser who knows how to work natural curls. Happy customer, will definitely visit again.

I've been getting my hair cut here for years. I like it so much I came back and got a haircut here 6 months after moving to England. I have curly hair and they know how to handle that here. It's also refreshing to have rock music playing on the radio instead of chart music like in many hairdressers. That said, it's a nice quiet salon. They have a student discount too.
