Great value for money great day out for all the family. £2 to park your car for the day, you can have breakfast there well worth the money. Plus they do carry out coffees and teas. The train was amazing and they have a disabled lift for wheelchair. The loos are nice and clean. Loads of steam trains to see,

Really nice train ride, not too long. Only thing is there's not much to do when you get to Lakeside, although very pretty, there's the little aquarium, boat rides to the other side of lake and that's about it. We mistakenly thought we would be nearer to the shops etc. It was very nice anyway. Amazing scones at the train station before we got on train.

Perfect picnic trip to the Lakeside with kids. Once you reach the station, you need to buy tickets online. The steam engine was built in 1867 but still runs !! the route to Lakeside is picturesque and mesmerising. There is also a nice little play area next to the station for the kids to spend more time. Lakeside also has rest rooms with baby change. Highly recommend for families looking for a picnic day out.

We had an afternoon tea, well more of a lunch, it was for 6 of us, the food was excellent, it was hot, really well presented and lovely and fresh. Everything we well thought of from sauces, napkins and cutlery, it was followed by a trip on the train for my grandsons 1st Birthday and he and his brother (3) loved every minute. Thank you so much we all had a lovely family time.

Love this place 😄 we come here every time we come back to the lakes. Lovely friendly staff and the station cafe does the best breakfast in the area with vegan, veggie and meaty options. Can heartily recommend the trip up to the aquarium too.

The steam train ride to Lakeside was a nostalgic and leisurely experience and lots of fun. Social distancing was strictly observed whilst on board but less so on the platforms. Not much to do in Lakeside. That said, a very pleasureable time was had.

Shame about the weather but it was a lovely experience. They allow dogs too which is great as I didn't feel comfortable leaving them in the car being so far away from them. Very reasonably priced.
