Lovely store. Very clean and tidy. The staff are friendly and helpful. We had coffee and sandwiches in the expresso cafe which tasted very good. It was nearly 5pm and although it was nearly time to close they did not rush us. Please LIKE when you have read my review. Thank you

Love the store, and the staff are super friendly... 5 stars for the customer service! However, they need to know that the VAT process is RIDICULOUS! No other shops in London or Cambridge require you to queue and wait for VAT refund paperwork.... one of the computers didn’t seem to pull up the Global Blue software for it...

I bought a necklace at John Lewis with the confidence of the level of customer service they offer, but not on this occasion. I wore the necklace once and it broke,I did not get it caught on my hair brush and did not play rugby.It was on a quiet evening for drinks with friends in the garden. I brought the necklace to the shop hoping for a refund or repair, to my disbelief this was refused. I was served by an elderly lady whose english was terrible, every time she spoke I had to ask her to repeat, we were then approached by a young girl (who had probably just come out of secondary school) who was apparently the manager or supervisor who said the same thing "Nothing we can do" Terrible necklace, terrible service and terrible customer relations. I shall hesitate to shop in John Lewis again.

I tried to order a new TV, chose a delivery date but on receipt of email confirmation it had been inexplicably changed to a different date. I phoned to try and change the date to one I could be in for but after being on hold for 20 minutes was told I had to cancel the order and try a re-order. A subsequent complaint only met with further avoidance of the issue. I have bought every TV I've ever owned through John Lewis but will be looking elsewhere. I used to buy from John Lewis because of the excellent customer service; the measure of a good company is how they handle a problem, on this occasion John Lewis were terrible.

I must say I am highly disappointed in John Lewis' service. I ordered a next day pick up in store delivery with John Lewis. When I ordered the item I was assured via email I could pick it up from the store the next day. This was why I bought it from John Lewis in the first place, because I needed it the next day. Otherwise I could have bought it at another store. I received a text message about a delay on the day I was to pick up the item, although I had received confirmation that everything was fine. To me, this is no excuse for non-compliance of the service offered and confirmed, and - again - I could have bought somewhere else, but didn't because they assured next day pick up. Worse, I spent my time on the phone talking to the customer service and was promised - after one of the staff confirmed with a Manager - that I would get a discount on the item I bought because of the inconvenience caused. I then had to call again because of this issue to request that discount (instead of being contacted by the customer service). Apparently there was no information on me receiving a discount in their system. I was told again that they would look into this and get back to me either that day (which was last Saturday, 13 April) or Monday (so 4 days ago, 15 April). I haven't heard back from them until now when I received an email telling me I just won't get any compensation at all. I would have expected that a company like John Lewis would maintain higher quality standards.

Nice Department Store The staff, including, staff of the cafe, are polite, nice and friendly. Patient with good communication skills too. John Lewis did a great job to train its staff. Staff of other business can be quite impolite and short tempered to a foreign face like me. They often assume foreign customers cannot speak english? At least I feel being welcomed by John Lewis. No trouble in communication or asking for help. Unfortunately it's quite hard to get my size in the department store. Had to order online most of the time. But still, there are plenty of good stuff to browse and buy in the store. Like gift food and kitchen tools. Glad that John Lewis' online delivery service is very reliable. Always deliver within a short period of time. No delays. It's the only department store left in Cambridge. Hopefully it will survive!
