Me and my now wife went there on our wedding night and it was better than expected. The food was delicious and reasonable for the price. Staff were polite and very accommodating. The room was also super clean and just gorgeous all around. Not a single complaint between us.

Super location, very good value for money. Feels very safe. Maybe lacked a bit of character but I guess Mercure do not specialise in character. Very kind and helpful staff.

Always a joy here, I almost feel bad telling people about my secret, hidden hotel! Great value, has felt very safe staying here when I have needed to recently. The grounds and lake and sprawling mix of accommodation make it a bit different, also the part of town (although still accessible for the centre). Free Parking is a bonus for any city hotel.

They gave us a twin bedroom for a couple. We asked for a double bed and they kindly changed it. The bed was too soft and it seems like it had not springs or were broken. Both room were far too hot and there was no temperature regulator in the room and if we opened the window it was too cold. Apart from that staff were lovely and helped us the best they could.

The building was impressive and I really like the local area. Our friends were nearby and if we wanted to live miles from the sea, family, in the North then this would be a very pleasant and somewhat trendy suburb. The room size was great and facilities functional. The staff were all generally competent and friendly. The 24 hour pizza and bar hit the spot after our group of friends returned from town. We enjoyed the hot tub the next day and a little swim. Good degree of compensation for problems encountered by friends that could not be rectified on the day.

What a great weekend we had. 8 of attached to a bigger group. There was an Elvis Presley show on Friday evening . There is a tranquil lake for quiet strolls. The breakfast buffet was always well stocked, never waited for any refills. The functions manager 'Dave ' was an absolute gem. Funny , entertaining, and most of all efficient. Our spa treatments were excellent. My wife had a facial with Ginny, lovely girl. I cannot remember the girl's name for my full body massage. There were 2 weddings on whilst we were at Kenwood Hall, as well as other functions. , So the staff should be praised for never looking rushed. David Hills.

We visited for our 11 year anniversary at the end of September. We arrived in the evening, the carpark had no lighting at all so wasn't exactly safe. We got to our room "privilege suite".. it was shocking. Ground floor, where the parking is, windows weren't secure. Carpet ripped, damp in the room, bathtub eroding, there was a nail holding the toilet seat together. It was very late so we left it. Following day, we went to reception. We were told "the hotel it dated" i explained that we knew from pictures it was dated but mould, damp and lack of maintenance is not something we paid for. They moved us to another room which was a little better. We were there for 3 nights Expensive for the standard. Grounds are lovely but not well kept, breakfast was fine. Wouldn't go again.

Seems like a good offer but the rooms are pretty scummy. Mattress way overdue a refresh. Bath looks like it's been reused from an old council house. 15 year old none smart TV. Just dated and worn furnishings all around. Didn't sleep well. Oh yeah and the mould.....

Four star price but currently three star service. Rooms not cleaned, beds not made, no fresh towels, no replenishment of toiletries or beverages if you stay more than one night. Pool open on an intermittent schedule. Good breakfast but no fresh juice. Key card was deactivated after our first night without apology. Large rooms and very pleasant grounds.
