Dropped in today. Bijou but beautiful. Dog friendly establishment too! I had leek and potato soup which was tasty, delicious and creamy. Really lovely soup, just wasn't enough, could happily have had a second bowl because it went down so well. Definitely going to have that again. Came with lovely fluffy bread and butter. Pot of Earl Gray and simply had to try one of the much discussed brownies. Opted for the salted caramel and it was as divine as a truffle. Very small room but there is some seating outside at the front and also apparently at the back in a courtyard - further exploration required on my part. Very friendly and helpful service. Very reasonably priced, got three cups of tea from my pot. They also do take out on the sandwiches. Worth knowing. Brownies are a good size, going to have to try some of the others now! Thank you for looking after me.

My friends and I visited the Cafe today. We were blown away by the delicious brownies! I can honestly say in my 36 years on this planet I’ve never tasted anything that exquisite before. There were so many options to choose from and I ended up going with a “cheesecake brownie!” 2 deserts in one go! It was phenomenal! My taste buds were literally buzzing with excitement and I inevitably let out a huge sigh, not unlike that to Kevin Malone from the US Office when he eats a candy bar! Just couldn’t be helped. I would urge anyone to go try this place out, the food is on another level, the staff are friendly and welcoming. It’s definitely going to be my go to cafe in York from now on.

Dropped into Hilda and Jane's last Saturday for a coffee and brownie. Lovely relaxing and atmospheric café, friendly staff and great coffee. Their brownies are the best I've ever tasted you have to try the raspberry ones, the rich chocolate and the tangy taste of the berries give a taste sensation. Perfect location for that morning coffee.

Finally got chance to devour some delish treats thanks to seeing Hilda & Jane's post about the York food market! Salted caramel brownie was absolutely incredible and didn’t last long enough for a photo!!! Nothing worse than reading "salted caramel" and there not being enough of either, this did not disappoint! Will certainly be back! 🤤
