I was so surprised to read the positive reviews on here for Hazels classes. She is an awful teacher

I was so surprised to read the positive reviews on here for Hazels classes. She is an awful teacher who has very little understanding of the true meaning of yoga. Such a shame people like her are allowed to teach. I can only think that those that have given her positive reviews have either been paid or are friends. I have spoken to many people who practise yoga in and around Oxford and not one has a good thing to say about her

5/ 5

I’ve attended Hazel’s yoga classes since autumn 2006. I’ve also taken the 60-hour Wheel of Yoga Foundation course 1 with her. She is knowledgeable and professional. Her own continuing professional development continually feeds back into her teaching and she is always careful to explain new thinking about the asanas, and to offer modifications to suit all levels. But above all this, Hazel brings her lovely warm personality to her teaching. I highly recommend her classes.

As a beginner I attended this class to hopefully begin my yoga journey. I must say the experience has put me off yoga completely. The instructor Hazel expected me a complete novice to keep up with the rest of the class. No instruction was given and I was left to myself. A most disappointing experience.

5/ 5

I have been attending yoga classes with Hazel for three years now. I had limited experience of yoga when I started but Hazel has helped me develop my practice. She is careful and attentive in the way she teaches and allows for all levels of ability. She maintains a balance between helping students correct and improve their yoga while keeping the class entertaining and varied. Her style of teaching is very open and welcoming. As a relative novice I felt comfortable and at ease. Lessons are very well paced - challenging at times offering opportunities to develop in each lesson, but equally never leaving you feeling you need to push too far. I would have no hesitation in recommending Hazel and her classes as relaxed and confidence building approach to yoga.

4/ 5

I have been practising yoga for 5 years, mainly with Iyengar teachers. I joined one of Hazel's classes for people with some experience of yoga about a year ago, and thoroughly enjoy her teaching. She always makes sure that poses are introduced with alternatives for participants who wish to take their practice more gently or to move with more vigour. I enjoy her use of working in pairs, something that I do not get in other classes.

5/ 5

I have spent the last year on Hazel Faithfull's British Wheel of Yoga Foundation course and I'm really rather surprised to see a couple of negative comments on her Google reviews. I have spent many hours doing yoga with Hazel and have found her to be both professional and knowledgeable about so many aspects of yoga and it’s teachings. She is a kind and compassionate person who definitely has “enriched” the lives of the students she has taught and I can assure you that she is a qualified British Wheel of Yoga Teacher. In my opinion, these comments are not in the heart of a true Yogi. I will be attending further classes with Hazel Faithfull and I encourage you all to do the same. You won’t be disappointed.

I found Hazel when I moved to Oxford. It is wonderful to find a Hatha Yoga teacher, as they are quite a scarce group. Returning to yoga after a long break has been a great joy, and Hazel tailors everything to the individuals within her class. I can feel the improvement already.
