Perfect location for our two night stay in Edinburgh! Directly across the street from the train station and tram which made it easy to travel into the city and back. Haymarket Hub had the most comfortable bed of all the hotels we stayed in through our week long stay in the UK. The staff was professional, friendly, and accommodating. We will definitely be staying here if we make it back it Edinburgh some day. The only thing that could have possibly made our stay better would be to have tea or coffee available in the room.

4/ 5

Location of the Hotel is excellent for getting around Edinburgh and Scotland without having to rent a car as the Haymarket train station is right across the street. Was able to walk to the Royal Mile with ease, picked up a bus trip to the Highlands, and even took a train to travel to the second leg of of my trip--London. The room itself was very small, which was mostly fine as I did not spend much time there, but the bathroom was super small and hard to move around in. Thankful for the air conditioning as it was warmer in Scotland in August than I had anticipated. Appreciated the Sky TV box as well as the snacks, etc. for sale at reception. The adjoining bar Platform 5 was great to have next door for breakfast as well as nighttime snacks and drinks. Overall a good stay and great value for the price.

Air conditioning failed at approx. 0600 or earlier, asked the front desk to look into it at about 1100, and was told the engineer would go to the room and look at it. There was no evidence anyone looked at it while we were out. About 17 hrs after it went out we had no help/compensation from management. They claimed all the separate room air conditioning units on the entire floor didn't work for some unknown reason and they needed a 24 hr. reset period after the 17 hrs already passed. Beyond the A/C issue, the pillows are extremely uncomfortable and the front desk seemed to anticipate us asking for better pillows as their response that there weren't any different pillows, just more, seemed very common. The beds are quite springy and firm if that's what you prefer. Beyond that, as others stated, the rooms are very small with minimal amenities. The decor is nice, blackout curtains work well, it's near a train and tram station, and it's clean. Those are about the only positives.

I'll recommend this hotel. The room is clean and I really adore the intelligent design. The location is good and I can walk to city center. However, my room has no window so the room is easily to get some odours..

They say that they offer luggage storage for non-guests for a small fee on their website, but I was turned away when I came here hoping to be able to drop my suitcase off for a few hours.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here! Room was clean and the bed was surprisingly comfortable, I can’t normally sleep well in hotel rooms due to how noisy the air con unit is but the room was really quiet and I slept great and the blackout curtain and window was was really good keeping the light/noise out, if I didn’t need to walk up early I could of slept for a lot longer!
