I have given a star for the lovely friendly and helpful staff and a star for the cleanliness of the hotel and rooms. The problem with this hotel is that it needs to decide if it wishes to upgrade it's catering facilities because it's a complete disaster. The cooked buffet style breakfast is warm food you have to put onto cold plates the result is at best warm/cold food. While doing this you also have to toast your bread and either use the coffee machine or brew you own tea without the use of a teaspoon, you are provided with a wooden stick(why?) There are no teaspoons anywhere in the hotel. Please don't reply with a cut and paste of what the hotel has on offer at breakfast time as you have done with other reviews. I would like to suggest that you go and see for yourself what happens at breakfast in your hotel before you reply. You will also witness as the demand for food rises the shortages increase this is very apparent on weekends when one of the City's football clubs have a home game that day.

Although being a good location for the city centre- the general running of this hotel was the only negative part of our weekend away- not necessarily bad service, however just a complete lack of- with minimal staff who did not seem to show much of an inclination to help. The cherry on top being once we had left we have now noticed a phone bill for £5 for a short call that was made to the hotel during our travels up to let them know we would be arriving later than advised. If you are wanting to charge a higher rate you need to provide a higher standard of service to begin with.

It’s okay, the room was clean and pleasant. But the bed wasn’t good, so can’t give more than four stars due to that. Good location for the docks and city. Large enough rooms, plenty of storage. Strange bathroom doors, don’t give much privacy. Beds need replacing, so do the pillows.

This was our second time staying here. The first time there were major problems with breakfast and we thought it was a one off and decided to give it another chance as the hotel was good location and clean. First morning we arrived down for breakfast at 9.45am when breakfast finished at 11am and there was no cutlery, no hot food left, not bread for toast, no cups for drinks. Every table was unavailable as other guests had left their food there and none of the tables had been cleared. Once again the hotel completely unprepared and unable to cope but still command premium prices for a sub standard service. We brought this to the attention of the checkout clerk who had zero interest. Nice hotel but don’t expect good service or breakfast.

I love staying here. It's convenient for the shops, the docs, museums.. The breakfast is good, I like that there is an option of cereals, cooked breakfast and even make your own waffles. Bathroom was big and clean. The shower was lovely and hot. Really enjoyed our stay. Will definitely be back.

Noisy air con so didn't sleep well, I had fish and chips for my evening meal; the best way to describe it was awful. The fish was grey, and burnt, this was a frozen breaded fillet from a low brand supplier. The chips were of the frozen variety and bland, the mushy peas were flavourless, i ordered a Chinese from the local take away. The breakfast was probably the worst I have ever experienced, dry and overcooked bacon was left under the heat lamp so it snapped when you pushed a fork in it, the sausage was also overcooked and flavourless, the beans were dry because they were left under the lamps and the tomatoes were sloppy tinned product. The servery sign stated hash browns, they were small potato discs the size of a 10p. The plates are cold and the food likewise, bread for the toast is uncovered and goes hard quickly. There were no spoons or stirrers for the coffee, I used a fork! Tables are not cleared and cleaned after guests have finished eating. The evening menu is poor and all the items are cooked from frozen, the choice is poor and limited, bar prices are extortionate; £6.20 for a bottle of fruit cider. The only plus if there is one is that the rooms are decent. The hotel gives little value for money.

Bar lacking choice, change and advertising food but not able to provide. Breakfast area has all the potential but food not great quality and needed more cooking (Sausages and Bacon) next day we walked into town to get a breakfast although we had already paid for! Rooms well equipped and clean.

Value for money. Good breakfast. Comfy bed. The little things could improve like soap dispensers and the in room tea etc replacement each morning. However good location near Albert Dock and close to everything in centre of Liverpool. Would stay here again stress value for money! Pay more get more. For me fine.

4/ 5

A perfect hotel for all that Liverpool has to offer on a city break. The hotel location is easy to reach by car, public transport or by foot. It’s right on the edge of the city centre and so avoids most of the loud noise but you can be in the heart of it with a 5-6 min walk. Parking is £13 a night either via the app or through the hotel. The car park is under the hotel. Room 601 has an ok view with the famous Royal Liver building clearly visible. The room was clean and comfortable and came with tea/coffee facilities, hairdryer and an iron. Breakfast is included with the room rate and includes full cooked and continental breakfasts.
