Good choice of menu and specials board for lunch.Food and service was good enough to justify prices a little bit higher than usual for pubs in the area. All the meals were tasty and well prepared. Only three stars instead of four due to lack of heating in the upstairs restaurant where we ate. We were informed that it takes quite a while for the room to warm up.

Went for Sunday lunch and the food was good but we have had better and cheaper elsewhere. The main course (roast beef ) was £14 and a desert was £6 and then they add a 10% service charge to your bill which I wasn't impressed by ! I believe that you should leave a tip based on the level of service that you received and not what you are told to pay ! The service we received was good but not great. I don't think my partner and myself would visit again based on our experience to be honest.

Another fantastic Sunday lunch, we just managed to book the last table. Great fresh food, great having a choice of how well done the beef is. Great local atmosphere and always busy. Definitely worth parking down the road and walking up.

Probably the nicest place we've been to around here! A proper village pub. Even though it was busy, we didn't have to wait long for our food which was absolutely delicious and piping hot! Our dog Rosie, enjoyed her "dogs dinner" and a staff member even brought a water bowl and treats for her! We thoroughly enjoyed our visit! Will most definitely be back! Thank you to the lovely staff at the Gwaelod Y Garth 😀 ❤

Another delicious meal in this cozy location. I'm in Wales every year or two to visit family and a stop here is mandatory. Every starter and meal I've ever had here has been perfect. We also tried their takeaway Sunday dinner and it was brilliant! Everyone got their choice of main, and the sides were all perfectly done. The price was so reasonable too.

Went for dinner on a Wednesday night with my mum and we had the fried brie and chicken croquettes, which were some of the best food I've ever had! My steak and ale pie came with incredible puff pastry and mum loved her boiled ham. We shared a delicious bottle of red and a sticky toffee pudding for dessert. The ambience in there is really relaxed and cosy. The best thing is definitely the amazing service across the board. In fact, when our taxi didn't turn up to take us home, the manager arranged for one of the barmen to finish early and take us in his own car! We were so grateful! Would definitely recommend any time of the year, just plan a good way to get home or book a taxi in advance. They get super busy every night so a booking is a good idea too.
